wow! How cool would this be?

HTC Touch Pro breaks free on Verizon

Nov 24th 2008 7:40AM (Engadget)
god, what a disappointment Verizon is. first, they took the cool curvy look of the TP and changed that to this squared-off monstrosity. then they reduced the internal memory. Then they made it seriously overpriced. Verizon = sucks really, really hard.

Xbox 360's lack of Sony Pictures films streaming on Netflix "unrelated" to competition

Nov 21st 2008 4:44PM (Engadget)
this is sort of pointless for me after experiencing the completly low-res crap that my 360/Netflix experience has been. On a 2MB+ connection I was still warned about inadequate bandwidth and the quality of the experience was really poor. I cancelled my netflix the next morning. It's a shame really, as the idea is really good. Honestly though, until a "normal" cable internet connection is enough to sport this sort of service than for me at least the whole thing is rather pointless.

Happy second birthday to the Nintendo Wii

Nov 19th 2008 3:14PM (Joystiq)
Love my Wii, hate my Wii. The right games ( Zelda, mario and a handful of others ) make it the #1 system under the TV. Without a flow of games like that though it may as well be unplugged. What do I look forward to in the next year? Hmmmm... More mildly dimissive comments from the Regginator regarding "hard core" gamers( I used to dig the Reg but lately He's sort of lost his cool-factor ), lots and lots of waiting for even halfway decent, non-minigame releases, more waiting for some decent first-party games, the release of the rest of the SNK titles on Wii, maybe some more good Genesis and turbografx games too. Waiting waiting waiting... that would seem to be my thoughts on the 3rd year of Wii.

HTC not bringing Touch HD to the States

Oct 7th 2008 4:05PM (Engadget)
this is the worst news I've heard all day... I can't believe HTC. WTF? so now I have to settle for a stripped doen touch Pro because my company works with Verizon? Christ... what a tease.

GEM becomes Green Eco Mobility, introduces Peapod prototype

Sep 30th 2008 7:35AM (Engadget)
I work at a Chrysler dealership that carries the GEM line. sure, they're cool in a 'I'm retired and shipping this thing to the condo in Florida' sort of way, but they are also about $9000. Yep. for what is essentially a super golfcart with blinkers, it's waaaay overpriced. electric vehicles, especially ones with limited range and speed like the GEM's, will not go mainstream when the same money will buy you something that comes with doors.

Alex St. John: We're playing the 'last generation of consoles'

Aug 19th 2008 7:49AM (Joystiq)
alex St. john ... this guy's software has been on the must-remove list forever. After a decade of listening to him and looking over his wares, Orb is going straight into the must-delete list. sorry Alex, your reputation preceeds you.
