NBA Street-branded Air Jordans

Feb 12th 2007 7:54PM (Joystiq)
I am an avid Jordan collector and now I have to play a game I was hardly interested. LOL! No but seriously, these are going to fetch a pretty penny on ebay for the lucky 60 that can win a pair.

@#1 Jordan Brand sneakers are the number one selling shoe every year. In fact, the Jordan XXII is scheduled to release next week. Just check ebay the day after they release for some shocking inflation in effect.

Not so fast, Sega: EA has a 1080p game too

Feb 7th 2007 6:53PM (Joystiq)
Well I DO have a 1080p capable TV and look forward to games that feature this resolution. Now if they could release games that I actually WANT to buy in 1080p....MGS4, Halo 3, Lair, Mass Effect, etc. Probably not gonna happen though...

No one can beat free. If this turns out to be free I am going to be one happy Wii owner...

Publishers expected to have slow 2007

Sony is doing some things right

Nov 8th 2006 7:40PM (Joystiq)
Nostalgia is not your friend. The look on some of these peoples faces when they are brought back down from fanboy heaven after playing some of these games. Seriously, when is the last time anyone here played FFVII? I can tell you, I pulled the game out recently and let me tell you this, it does not stand the test of time. Even the pre-rendered movies look like ass compared to even the in game stuff from FFX. Playstation 1 games are going to look ugly. Mainly because this was the infancy of polygonal games. Now those 2D games are gonna do just fine as this was nearly the pinnacle of 2D gaming (SNES era). Happy gaming indeed....

EA continues to exploit, charging $50 for Need for Speed unlockables

Nov 2nd 2006 2:02PM (Joystiq)
This is Microsofts fault. They laid out this business model, not EA. Fellas, the bottom line is EA like every other company, is out for one thing, MONEY! These companies dont give a shit about you or I. At the end of the day, no one cares about joe gamer. They just want to see how much cash they can get out of you. Besides, if you are so angry about these microtransactions, dont fu**ing by them! Then and only then will companies stop placing things like this on the Marketplace.

The Game Gear could eat the Micro (or the evolution of handheld sizes)

Oct 23rd 2006 5:27PM (Joystiq)
I own a Game Gear, and while it does rock, its need to have 6 AA batteries and only 4 hours battery life, not to mention the awful screen blur does not mean I am pulling it out of the garage anytime soon. By the way, people are forgetting about Sega's best handheld. Nomad! It plays ALL Genesis games, has a rechargable battery pack (sold seperately), has a port for a second Genesis controller (2 player action) and last but not least, the machine also accepted the same video input that came with genesis so you could play the Nomad on your TV as well. Oh yeah, I have one of these too...

Sony: Blu-Ray on PS3 has "nothing to do with movies"

Oct 17th 2006 3:21PM (Joystiq)
The storage size is more about what is coming in the future. Back when CD games first came out, no one believed that we would be filling those CD's up. The larger cartridge sizes back then were just at about 512MB. Then games started coming out for PS1 with multiple discs. Features were cut from the cartridge versions like FMV, redbook audio and textures.
Blu-Ray is about tomorrow. Not today. In two years from now when games start hitting 30GB-50GB, the PS3 owners wont bat an eye. However, those 360 guys will be swapping DVD's during gameplay and wishing Microsoft had put a better solution in the machine then just DVD.

IGN says the PS3 controller is poopsky

Oct 16th 2006 7:15PM (Joystiq)
The problem with the controller is that it feels too light. They should have put some weights in it to simulate the weight of what the controller felt like with rumble in it. As it stands, it is way too light and the lack of rumble will certainly be missed...
