Rumor: ChuChu Rocket! to blast the XBLA

Jan 1st 2009 11:58AM (Joystiq Xbox)
Isn't it more logical that this would come to the Wii? The game uses a cursor after all...

Either way, I'm excited. We had some intense 4p matches on the dreamcast. I remember that when we hit a cats only, we'd always team up on one person. That person would be screaming for mercy while the rest of us just sing along with the cats only song. Good times.

Fanswag Bonus! Five in-game Gears 2 gold Lancer and Hammerburst sets

Dec 19th 2008 4:04PM (Joystiq Xbox)
I would turn my house gold because it's big. I'd then melt it down and be super-mega-rich.

Fanswag: Gears of War 2 Combustible Map Pack DLC

Dec 19th 2008 10:47AM (Joystiq Xbox)
The first thing I did when I got the game was hop into a party with a few friends. Everyone in the game was high ranking... and I didn't even know the controls yet.

I went sprinting to the enemies side as soon as the match started (getting my parties equivalent to "god damn it leeroy!"), but managed to chainsaw two of them before getting taken out. I didn't get another kill the rest of the match.

French national HD channels first to implement Dolby Digital Plus

Nov 2nd 2008 10:22AM (Engadget HD)
By December 2008? Really that soon? That seems like a very close deadline to require TVs to add codec support.

If so, huzzah I guess. I imagine that as manufacturers add this for the French, it'll trickle into all sets just cuz.

Best Buy's pushing Blu-ray to the front

Feb 11th 2008 4:44PM (Engadget HD)
Anyone who has been in Best Buy knows this is pretty much already the case. You can't turn around with seeing something Blu-ray, while HD DVD is quarantined to a small little generic section.

Bungie picks PQ over resolution for Halo 3

Oct 9th 2007 12:53PM (Engadget HD)
If you consider 720p to be the minimum for HD, then the 640p that Halo 3 runs at would be considered 80% of HD. (since 1152x640 gives you 80% of the pixels that 1280x720 gives you)

For comparison: 480p gives 37.5% the pixels of 720p, and 720p only gives 44.4% of the pixelx of 1080p (although twice as fast FPS-wise, assuming the game is running at a full 60 and 30fps respectively).

Personally, I think the 640p is close enough to HD. People need to chill out. How many people would have known at all if no one told them?
