City of Heroes II: The Marvel Universe [update 1]

Sep 28th 2006 12:53AM (Joystiq)
Regardless of the actual story details, MAD props for using the cover image from the official Marvel pen-and-paper RPG from way back! Hooo boy, I can't believe that anybody else had that. Man, I loved that game.

South Korea wants 100% robot market penetration by 2020

Frankly, I'm more worried that in 14 years robots will achieve 100% CEREBRAL penetration, Matrix-style.

Prison Break to change name next season

Mar 29th 2006 8:01PM (AOL TV)
Aha! My friends and I had been saying that they should change the name next season. Bravo, I say, for daring to take the show in a different direction rather than doing the same thing and becoming stale (I'm looking at YOU, "Lost").

Our consensus for a new name was "On The Run", or something similar. Will the name actually *totally* change, or will it be "Prison Break: Blah Blah" as suggested above? I can't wait...

Writer changes dietary habits of Friends star

Mar 19th 2006 11:54AM (AOL TV)
This story brings up an interesting question:

Can you still be a good samaritan if you're a jerk?

The way this guy tells the story makes him sound like a pompous know-it-all, all because Matthew Perry didn't know something that is supposedly obvious. And he has the nerve to call himself a good samaritan at the end! If a stranger gave me such smarmy, condescending advice I'd probably ignore it.

NBC places orders for two new dramas

Mar 17th 2006 11:41AM (AOL TV)
Incorrect regarding Prison Break - the show's creators have plans for at least a second season, which they and the stars have already acknowledged in interviews, for example:

Would Fox turn down a second season of a hit show? I don't think so.

New (and returning) programs for the week of March 12-18

Mar 12th 2006 3:36PM (AOL TV)
Prison Break on March 13 is a repeat of the most recent episode - the "fall finale". The first NEW episode is next week, on March 20.

Apple's iGame is totally iFake

Mar 10th 2006 8:48AM (Joystiq)
"Who's gonna believe the iGame when we all know that Apple is definitely working on a Video iPod, that's also a cell phone... and a tablet PC... and that's the system that will have handheld gaming functionality!"

Perhaps the point was to get lots of media coverage by hitching themselves to the Apple bandwagon. And I, for one, don't think that's going to...oh wait. I guess it did work.

Incidentally, I find this fake announcement much more interesting that the *real* Apple announcement at the end of February.

Ving Rhames joins cast of Aquaman

Feb 21st 2006 9:46PM (AOL TV)
Actually, the series' title is most likely going to be "Mercy Reef". See http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/687/687278p1.html

Call for Help returns, with Leo Laporte

Aug 29th 2005 10:51AM (AOL TV)
It wouldn't hurt to mention that Call For Help was resurrected by G4/TechTV *CANADA*, which has been airing and producing the show for well over a year. G4 (the American channel dropped the "TechTV" part) is picking up this show because of its ridiculous success in Canada and Australia, in addition to Leo's overwhelming internet popularity. Some props where they're due, please.

Is there really nothing on TV?

Aug 10th 2005 12:59AM (AOL TV)
This is "Op-ed"? A one-paragraph piece with a groundless cheap shot at what many would consider to be one of the smartest and funniest shows on television? Classy.
