In Snake Eater, when I played through the boss fight where you walk down the river, I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong for about four attempts (and I didn't even have that many spirits in there--I was playing through mostly slamming people's heads into the ground to knock them out.) Then I remembered the tooth thing.
