I know the Intel gpu on the 13" is much improved but for $1,200 you dam well better be getting a dedicated external gpu. Lame.

Mac OS X Lion developer preview released

Holy Cr** look at that Mail toolbar. My god is that ugly. Huge step back from the Color icons in the current version of mail.

Mac OS X 10.6.6 build 10J537 seeded, Mac App Store clarification says no demos

Jan 8th 2011 8:00PM (TUAW.com)
That's cr*p. No demo means no buy. I'm sorry but at a minimum users need a 15 day trial. Microsoft does it for $500+ apps. Apple devs can do it for their $19 apps. And the whole if you demo it, they'll hack it is a bunch of BS.

This will only cause users to download illegal versions and not pay anything because they couldn't try it first. To argue against demos is pure foolishness and goes anything the try before you buy practice that has defined computer software for over 20 years.

Microsoft retail store opening in AZ copies freely from Apple Stores

Oct 24th 2009 4:25PM (TUAW.com)
You know what's going to be funny? The first time someone brings their Dell laptop into their and ask for help with a virus and they says "oh we don't support that see your hardware manufacturer".
For buying products everyone is just stick to where its cheapest. So what exactly are you going to get out of these stores? I can see this being helpful for Zune and Xbox support but little else.

CoD4 logs 10 million 360 gamers since launch

Jan 8th 2009 4:39PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Exactly why we needed COD 5. No interest in COD 4. Why make more maps and easy money when you can spend MILLIONS on an overdone genre. It's not like the customers know what they want.

Oh wait..... MORONS.

Apple updates antivirus version numbers, security savants lose grip on reality

Dec 2nd 2008 5:33PM (TUAW.com)
Iantivirus is Free and does realtime scanning. I've never used antivirus on my mac before but if this doesn't hog my cpu I may leave it on. I still have clamavx on there but I don't really know how good a good it does on anything other then very well know viruses. No way it will catch an unknown trojan. Then again maybe Iantivirus will either. But at least PCtools has a great track record.

Apple posts details about Snow Leopard

Jun 9th 2008 4:19PM (TUAW.com)
"Apple will be focusing on the quality of the OS. "

So this is like an official admission that Leopard was buggy as heck? Maybe Snow whatever will get Bluetooth working on my Macbook. Not occasionally crashing when it sleeps would be great too.

Windows Vista upgrade guide, part 3: will it blend?

Jan 30th 2007 3:22PM (Engadget)
*Does all your software work like before?
Yep. Office, Itunes, Picasa work fine. VLC needs to be set to GDI mode or you get shockingly bounced into "Aero Basic Mode".
Gaming is a big letdown as Nvidia Drivers are anywhere from 15-50% slower than in XP. Nvidia owners should NOT be using Vista for gaming, period. I haven't tried my emu games yet.

* Does all your hardware still function perfectly?
Yep, but I had to use the XP driver for my Epson scanner.

* Is it integrating with your network alright?
Yep, that works fine.

* Did it put up a fuss joining your domain?
NA. No way businesses should be using this over XP at this point.

* What kinds of bugs are you seeing?
No showstoppers so far.

* Overall
Neat but not necessary. Horrendous Nvidia performance means you literally won't be able to go full-time to Vista yet without having performance issues. I'm bummed I have to continue to use XP because Nvidia STILL hasn't figured out how to write a decent driver for Vista.
