Sessler constructively rants about Xbox Live bigots

Jun 16th 2008 4:25PM (Joystiq)
I feel saying "they're just words" is being overly dismissive. Words can affect people, sometimes more than a punch in the face ever could.

"Handheld" arcade games hit eBay

Jul 24th 2007 2:03PM (Joystiq)
Hey Joystiq, I have a bunch of old 2600 games I'm planning on unloading on eBay, how about some free promotion for those?

Seriously, couldn't you have just linked to a fan page or something rather than shilling for "Retro Treasures"?

Joystiq poll: Did you get a Wii yesterday?

Jan 22nd 2007 11:44AM (Joystiq)
"Nik: I want a Wii and have an IQ of 132. So it's not just for mentally slow people."

If you're so smart, why didn't you realize that you were being baited? Please stop responding to obvious trolls.

No Dolby Digital for Wii?

May 25th 2006 4:17PM (Joystiq)
Am I missing something? I've been listening to 5.1 surround sound for over a decade using simple stereo AV cables plugged into my audio receiver. It sounds like the Wii will support 5.1 surround sound... what it won't support is the slightly better sounding Dolby Digital 5.1.

Showtime picks up season two of Masters of Horror

Jan 26th 2006 9:16PM (AOL TV)
I generally agree with the above comments. Masters of Horror has had quite a few episodes that went on way to long, and didn't have much of a payoff to justify the time invested. "Dance of the Dead" and "Jenifer" were horrible.

However, I just caught "Cigarette Burns", which renewed my faith in the show. It had some truly twisted and wonderfully uncomfortable moments.

So while the show is very inconsistent, I would say it's worth checking out. There are a few gems to be found.

Lost: Maps of the hatch

Oct 13th 2005 11:48AM (AOL TV)
Couldn't agree more. I was into the X-Files, and then I realized Chris Carter was making it up as he went along. Hell, it's easy to be vague and mysterious when you don't have anything specific planned for the characters (and it shows in the last several seasons of the show). I believe I read somewhere that they have the story arc already planned out for Lost... so here's hoping.

Top sci-fi shows of all time?

Sep 25th 2005 1:54PM (AOL TV)
No DS9 or Farscape but there was Voyager, Sliders, Thunderbirds, and Jetsons? And I love the new Battlestar Galactica, but number 2? It's only been on for 1.5 seasons... how can you already say it's the second best Scifi show ever? The list smacks of pandering and laziness.

The TV IV Wiki

Aug 30th 2005 9:35AM (AOL TV)
Let's not romanticize TV Tome to much. Just because you were used to it doesn't mean it was much better... it had plenty of its own UI problems & navigation issues.

The 4400: Life Interrupted

Jul 19th 2005 2:32PM (AOL TV)
#4 - You are correct sir; the STTNG episode was called "The Inner Light." Picard lives a lifetime in 30 minutes, and retains all those memories after the fact. I, as you did, picked up on the similarities about 10 minutes in.

American Dad: Homeland Insecurity

Jun 14th 2005 11:03AM (AOL TV)
Guess I'm the only one who thinks that most of the political humor on American Dad is forced and obvious. Seems like most of the jokes are something they would do on Saturday Night Live.
