First Elite pre-orders begin online

Apr 2nd 2007 6:10PM (Joystiq)
I'm finally swayed towards buying a 360. So many games that I want and so many of the Sony games I would've wanted are coming (or possibly coming) to 360 as well.

Pity I live in London. HMV's holding page is hinting towards a NOVEMBER UK release! I hope that was just some dodgy typing.

That PS3 fanboy needs to quit mashing that Dual Shock for a bit and hit those school books by the look of things. It's called PUNCTUATION :(

Last night my pizza looked like Pacman after I removed the first slice - may I submit that? *grin*

Yakuza nabs celebrities, takes their voices

I don't think the majority of you guys are aware of just how talented Mark Hamill is at voice acting? He's done some quality stuff from the Batman cartoon series to Lucas Arts games...hell, they almost ditched Frank Oz since Mark did such a good Yoda in TESB :)

Call me what you will, but I prefer my games in English :/

Ayrkain! I am so with you on that one! I rank Ultima 7 as one of my all-time favorite games...ever! It sits up there with Maniac Mansion, X-Wing, X-Com: Enemy Unknown, Another World and Morrowind.

In case you didn't know of its existance, some great U7 fans created a program called Exult to allow Ultima 7 to run on current gen systems without the need for those ineffectual slowdown utilities. Full sound at proper speeds :) You can find it at http://exult.sourceforge.net/ ENJOY!

Man pays $2500 for Sonic X-treme demo

Anon - I - mousse: Top .5 percentile, thanks for asking :)

I prefer to read threads that stick to the topic at hand. That was the motivation for most of our gripes.

My unreleased game is Cali 2095 (I may have the year in the title off, it was many moons ago back in the Dark Forces era). Lucas Arts had that advertised for a while as being a "FPS with puzzles" set on California after "the big quake" that split them from the main continent.

Erm...seriously people, they mean games that were meant to be released but were cancelled. Games that are CURRENTLY in production and have a FUTURE release date don't count.

Fuss over Sony PSP ads in the UK

Mar 8th 2006 7:26PM (Joystiq)
I live in London and have seen a few of these PSP ads. Most of them are really "blah" and don't elicit much excitement. Then again, I may be slightly biased and my opinion tainted after my severe disappointment after buying a PSP at launch! It's sad that my most anticipated title for PSP is a decades old title about copycat rodents with green hair :(

"White bits" huh? Oh wow, a female underwear reference. Big whoop. The most boring of the ad campaign is the "Movies playing here at 8.15 8.16 8.17 8.18. yourpsp." I just shrugged on the platform and went back to Mario Karting on the DS.

Molyneux's Lionhead cuts staff, axes projects

Woah, what's with all the animosity towards a respected game developer wh has proven himself very capable in the past and has always put the enjoyment of the game first?

I'd understand if this was an article about J. Romero. Come on guys, ease up on the agro there kids.

Molyneux's Lionhead cuts staff, axes projects

Mar 6th 2006 4:23PM (Joystiq)
I bought The Movies mostly because Peter Molyneux had his finger in the pie and wanted to support Lionhead.

I grew up on Populous, Syndicate, Theme Park, Dungeon Keeper and Black & White. He always delivered on providing amazingly fun game titles that pushed the limits.

The Movies is a really fun title and I somehow suspect it to be in cahoots with Alien Technology, since I would often experience lost time when playing that game :)

I sincerely wish Lionhead Studios a much rosier future, indeed!

Will Wright narrates SPORE gameplay video

Am I the only one who eventually got tired of hearing Wright say "Um" every 2nd or 3rd word?
