So what you're saying is if someone's an asshole for business reasons, we shouldn't consider them real assholes, just greedy cowards, nor should we criticize the assholes who create the market demand for lesbian action but not man-on-man action? You seem to be encouraging a very passive method of social progress.
The whole premise of the Joystiq post seems to be that we're all Larry Craig douchebags if we let our double standard, hypocritical beliefs keep on flourishing, in games, politics, and so forth. I think we're all aware that Bioware can't make a game starring a fat, black, female, homosexual Muslim as a main character anytime soon and expect the game to sell well, no matter how well crafted the game's graphics, story and gameplay is.
But, at a certain point market demands need to take a backseat to what we think is morally right. A certain game that features Big Daddies tried to hammer this idea home, but I guess a lot of people didn't pay attention.
My personal take on this story (if true) is that since there are many more gay men than gay women in the world, it makes more sense to feature gay male relationships in a game than gay female relationships. A lesbian relationship for the primary reason of pleasing STRAIGHT MALES is practically turning the game into a porn game.
There was an episode of Star Trek TNG where Will Riker tries to seduce a, ummm, unisex alien. Basically the show wanted to present a homosexual relationship but thought it would cause too much controversy, so they opted to make the alien neither man nor female, so as to avoid the ramifications of a more specific man-on-man episode.
I was interviewed for a game tester job on Rock Band at EA, but I didn't make the cut. I was SOOOO depressed that day. Can you imagine game testing Rock Band? Game testing is usually pretty grueling work, but testing Rock Band woulda been one of the best game testing jobs you could ever get, and just a great job in its own right. Imagine rocking out all day with 3 other testers. The only drawback would be if no one in your band could sing worth a damn :P
Anyway... now I'm a tester on the Sims again.... :|
AWESOME lantern but according to Andy Wang's link, it can't possibly be 1:1 scale. Maybe 1:3 ? There's a pic of a guy hugging a Gundam leg. The leg is too small compared to the guy. Unless the guy is a giant or something. haha.
I pre-ordered this from play-asia.com. It releases in a week or two, and is never coming to the USA from what most people are guessing. I'm a big fan of Gundam stuff, but not of Dynasty Warriors, so I'm a bit worried I made a bad purchase. If I did... check Ebay for my copy of the game ;)

I think EA should go back and "update" Wing Commander 3 and 4's game engines (keep the cinematics with Mark Hamill intact), then release both games over Xbox Live. When WC3/4 were released, video gaming was far less popular and accessible than it is today. So an update could be profitable. Maybe.
