Jan 13th 2008 6:21PM (TUAW.com)Avon is a beauty leader with over US$8.1 billion in sales and shows consistent growth YoY. Their business is largely internet based, and door-to-door selling is merely one strategy in their business model which enriches the lives of men and women daily. Their sales reps are given the opportunity to leave corporate servitude and form their own businesses with unlimited earning potential.
What's more, Avon has raised and awarded more than $450 million worldwide for women's health and empowerment causes, including breast cancer and domestic violence.
Failing? Doesn't seem to be the proper term. Think before you type.

Jun 26th 2007 11:06AM (TUAW.com)I completely agree - Europe has it made with unlocked GSM.
However, compared to the activations in the U.S., this iTunes activation is unbelievably easy. You normally have to sit around for an hour or two while your phone is "activated" by a store rep. And that's with GSM!
Many of our phones are TDMA/CDMA and have no SIM card - they actually get tied to your account and your name. The only way to switch is to call the carrier. At least with US GSM (T-Mo/AT&T) you can swap out your current SIM card into a new phone if you lose your current phone / want to upgrade. That's progress for us :)
Boot Camp 1.1.2
Oct 30th 2006 5:27PM (TUAW.com)"ability to install Windows XP on any internal disk,"
If this is true, we no longer have to use our primary startup disk!?! That would be outstanding to separate the two OSs without concern of cross-contamination of the boot record, etc.

"Epic" RPGs: too time-consuming for casual gamers?
Sep 18th 2006 5:05PM (Joystiq)This aspect of Oblivion allows for short bursts of play while you complete the quests of each faction. I continue to enjoy playing this way and may or may not ever get around to the main quest!
Combine the guilds/factions with the fast travel, and Oblivion really is accessible to any player who joins a guild.
Overheard at PAX: PS3 price "is some grade-A bullsh!t"
Aug 27th 2006 12:21PM (Joystiq)"You act like Sony is purposely raising the price to make more money. Their already hurting at a $500-$600 price. It's amazing how there were Sony supporters before the price was revealed, and now everybody hates Sony because of the price. Soony should have just had one bundle at $500, instead of following Microsofts crappy plan and doing two packs (very bad concept). What's the trend of having two bundle packs? It only adds to the frustration of trying to find the bundle your looking for. "
People don't believe that Sony -purposely- raised the price of their console. They are simply upset that Sony, with all of its resources, couldn't produce a gaming console for an already high $300-400. In fact, even at the $600 price point they are losing an incredible amount of money. What went wrong? Overestimations, using a brand new processor/video combo that may or may not work best for gaming, and general arrogance about the gamers being willing to pay for all of this.
