The patters are metal disks, so you'd have a hard time "smashing them into bits." However, it would bend the crap out of them and basically make them impossible to read.

I wouldn't give up my 7.5 years of multiplayer gaming on Xbox Live just to avoid the one time MS needed to investigate and recover my account (which was at least partly my fault, I had a weak password used on other websites with the same email). Personally, it only took about two weeks for me.

Every time an OnLive discussion comes up, someone says the quality is crap, and someone else says they're wrong, it's awesome.

How many times do we have to go over that it depends not only on the quality of your internet connection, but how far you are from their servers? I tried playing the free demo of Unreal Tournament on a 25 up/25 down Mbps Fios connection. The video quality ranged from bad to a blurry mess, and the lag made it basically unplayable. That's not to say it isn't good for others, but it didn't work at all for me.
