by the time she realized that she had taken it too far the damage was already done. Holding your breath for a contest is different, your body won't let you take it too far, it needs to breathe (try holding your breath as long as you can, if you manage to take it too far you pass out and your body starts breathing... not healthy, but certainly not leathal).
Drinking too much water is different. By the time she realized she wasn't feeling well, her body had already begun to shut down. Which is why she would have needed to go to a hosipital ASAP. Instead she went home, thinking she was just a little sick. By the time she was in pain, it was too late.
Also, it doesn't matter if she signed a waiver. She was uninformed of the true risks. (the station itself wasn't even aware of them, despite warnings)
It's a terrible tradegy, and to place any blame on the mother is unfair and useless IMO.

I have to say that while I think a lawsuit is a little on the extreme side I have had issues with Halo game discs..... I take very good care of my games, never had one unplayable until Halo 3....bought the game, played it for a couple weeks, then there's like a spider crack in the centre. Whatever, bought another one, same thing within about 3 weeks. The game would either work for half the maps and then boot me for the others, or upon putting it in my xbox it would say "to play this game, please insert into an xbox 360 console" Also happened to my brother's copy. Might have just been a bad batch, but we ended up buying the game 3 times....Kinda not cool.

you're kidding right? I think just about everyone I know who's had a PS3 has had to return it for some reason.... Just last week my friend's 25 day old PS3 stopped working..... Also... Devil May Cry is a prime example of PS3 disk retardedness....
Every system has issues.... I've had the RRoD on my 360 and my brothers each did too.... No problems with either of our Wii's yet though.... Not to say anything won't come up... but to sit here and claim the PS3 is perfect is just stupid.

All of you complain about having no money to buy new games, and how expensive they are.... if you keep pirating them, the prices will only go up to accommodate for this......
I'm sorry you are families that are 'Just getting by' but I come from one of those myself... and I worked hard, took out massive student loans and went to university.... Plus I think a lot of that is bullshit.... What about all those people out there who are working hard that pay for their shit? what makes you so special? If you need to justify it to yourself that little Tommy wouldn't have shoes if you had to pay for this DS game, whatever, but no one else wants to hear your bullshit story as to why you steal.
Everyone I know who has pirated games is someone who can afford to pay the 30$ for a legal copy....
If you really want to try the game, rent it.

I seem to be the only one to post to this effect positively.... I loved the mario baseball game for the cube..... all the missions were fun... and some damn near impossible... I'm really excited for a wii release, although I have to admit... the controller swinging/shaking is a little worrisome...

I got my ds lite at Christmas to replace my phat. But it looks mint, I learned from the mistakes of the phat and bought screen protectors right away. Also, to clean those nasty top buttons (and the rest of the lite), use a mr. clean magic eraser. just dip it in a little bit of water, squeeze pretty much all the water out of the sponge and gently rub it on the top. Makes it look brand new. It works really well on ibook's too!
