Welcome to the next Engadget

I can't login using Firefox 3.5.5. I can click to bring up the login window, enter my email and password and then it literally does nothing. it doesn't look busy like it's loading a page, doesn't pop up any window, doesn't show any error, just nothing. I've tried starting Firefox in safe mode, disabling all extensions, have scripts allowed, not blocking popups and nothing works.

It works fine for me in Chrome.
Anyone else having problems with FF?

Droid experiencing external speaker problems, could be a software issue?

Nov 15th 2009 2:10PM (Engadget)
If it isn't addressed by the software update and it is a hardware problem, the 30 day window doesn't matter as the device has a 1 year warranty that would cover it.

If it's hardware it would be covered by the 1 year warranty and you'd still be able to get it replaced/fixed if the Dec 11th update doesn't fix it.

Sure it's about sales. But it doesn't have to sell the most for Motorola to make money. Not everyone is so small minded to just blindly buy into all of Apple's marketing. There are plenty of people (mostly the "tech geeks" you talk about) that actually do prefer the superior device. Some of them consider the iphone to be superior and some consider other phones to be superior. When you grow up, maybe you'll grasp the concept that just because it may not sell more than the iphone that it is still a great device.

DirecTV exclusive Sunday Ticket is 'in the consumers' best interest'

Nov 12th 2009 4:05PM (Engadget HD)
Why shouldn't multiple carriers be allowed to have it and consumers will decide who has the superior product?

It's only in the NFL's best interest to keep it with DirecTV exclusively because they are getting paid millions for it. The extra cost just gets passed onto the consumers.

Droid Does... only have 256MB of storage for apps

"because asking the average consumer to install one part of the app on the device and the rest of it on an SD card is, well, way above most people's heads."

I doubt the user actually has to do anything different. It's probably automatic as to what goes where in most cases.

A 1998 Forrester Research prediction about HDTVs wasn't even close

Oct 9th 2009 10:00PM (Engadget HD)
Slappy, why do you arbitrarily choose 65 inches? 65" is not a very popular size and the quantity of them is relatively low so of course their price is still above $2000. 50 inches is big by most standards and there are a lot of them for $1000-1500 with all the latest technology.

Panasonic including DivX Plus HD (MKV) support into next gen Blu-ray players, TVs

Sep 12th 2009 1:12AM (Engadget HD)
At one point DivX alone was associated mostly with pirating and people were asking the same questions about why companies were incorporating DivX playback in their dvd players. mkv is the best container for high quality video. Pirates just adopted it the fastest and dvd manufacturers are playing catch up.

Google Calendar adds holidays, sports calendars, birthdays

Nice addition, but the calendars I add don't seem to sync with my blackberry using google sync. Adding sports calendars from mysportscal.com do work with the sync.
