Nokia readies iPhone-ish "Tube," disses Apple's sales

Apr 8th 2008 4:17AM (Engadget)
Draaaainage! I do believe you're a techno snob...don't you like the fact that Apple makes technology accessible and fun to use for the luddite masses? I just got an iPhone last week, it's a beautiful device, easy to use, they've brought real competition to the mobile phone sector so everyone's a winner! I am a Windows user but credit where it's due, Apple designs intuitive and beautiful (and functional) devices.

The Nokia bloke sounds like a right wanker.

only a moron would see humour in pranks like that.

3G iPhone: is June launch now inevitable?

Mar 6th 2008 8:38PM (Engadget)
John: actually 3G is an issue if you're in markets that don't even have the iPhone yet....like Australia: we won't even be getting iPhone until the 3G version.

@ Dave

when I travel I don't use more than one USB port. If you need more than one USB port you don't buy the thing. It's not rocket surgery.

believe it or not, there are people out there who travel a lot and pay a premium for a well designed, light computer that meets their particular needs. Ultra light computers aren't all about about performance per $. I know it is hard to imagine because it doesn't meet your particular need. Twit.

I haven't bought one yet but I can see it meets a niche in the market.

Analysis: 360 Elite forum reception not so elite

Apr 4th 2007 7:06AM (Joystiq)
@ 40 it is a stupid move by MS, instead of driving a real wedge between the price of the PS3 and their system, they are actually moving toward it....if anything it shows the value of the PS3 system, and they are fighting the battle on Sony's terms. Does it contain built in wireless functionality and HD-DVD? add those things and then see how it compares in price to a PS3...except of course PS3 has Blu Ray which isn't a redundant format as HD DVD will soon be.

Bad bad move by MS. I own a 360.

The Simpsons Game coming from Electronic Arts

Apr 2nd 2007 11:57PM (Joystiq)
if the game is as entertaining and funny as the Simpsons has been the past 5 years or so, I think I'll pass. Sorry this show is well and truly past its use by date. It used to be fantastic, now it's a travesty.

PS3 has flown past the 3 million mark!

Apr 2nd 2007 11:11PM (Joystiq Playstation)
"I remember at the end of November MS was barely at 8 million and then the December numbers came out and they nearly tripled Novembers sales. There really looks like there was some funny business there. You can't trust Microsoft accounting."

I would say that was just the usual Christmas sales spike. Anyway a month ago I thought PS3 was in serious trouble, since then they have turned this around. I am fairly confident they will eventually win the battle against the 360, as for the Wii I don't know, I don't quite see them in the same market segment as 360 / PS3. I bought a 2nd hand 360 but will eventually get a PS3 as I think it is the superior system when it eventually reaches its potential. Has more untapped potential than the 360.
