Watch Valve's Erik Wolpaw lecture on Portal 2 development, nixed ideas

Just finished it. Must-watch if you're a Valve fan... Just do something while you've got it on to pass the time.
After I beat Portal 2... since replayability isn't something its big on, I've just been scraping up everything I can for more on it.

@SiN13 Yeah, they've got us so in the blue about this one. They've just shown blips of what's in there, but how it all can be utilized opens endless possibilities.

Really most excited about the dialogue and story, though.

@Bruce Wayne Can't play online with the iPod Touch version, though. :\
StreetPass is going to prove awesome among gaming/anime conventions too.

This has me wanting the 3DS more than anything else.
More than 3D OoT.
There, I said it.

Guess I'll have to deal with my iPod version for the time being. Bluuuh I hate touchscreen joysticks.

The Humble Indie Bundle: Leaving no customer behind

Mar 1st 2011 1:42PM (Joystiq)
@PR0F3TA I too consider myself a Macbook Pro Gamer... and the whole problem behind games on the OS X platform is that Apple just isn't getting behind it enough. They obviously don't want to target gamers, which is stupid of them, because they're powerful machines and should be advertised to all audiences as such.

It's all about their graphic drivers. While on Windows you can download and update drivers for card through Nvidia/ATi directly, everything has to go through APPLE on OS X. It's sad when you have to wait months for an update from Apple just to play Starcraft 2 or TF2 properly. Even then, games run almost twice as well on my Windows7 partition (best thing I could ever do for gaming -- made a small 30GB partition and then installed all my games on a portable hard drive).

Thankfully we have people like Wolfire that is providing AWESOME casual-esque games for the Mac... I'm really happy about the collection of indie titles that have been compiled on my MBP, that I can pop up during class to goof off on without booting to Windows7. Still, if you want hardcore PC gaming on a Mac, you'll have to suffer that loss hard drive space for a proper gaming platform. I think it's worth it though... playing Dead Space 2 on my Macbook Pro never looked more beautiful.
