The Humble Indie Bundle: Leaving no customer behind
Mar 1st 2011 1:42PM (Joystiq)It's all about their graphic drivers. While on Windows you can download and update drivers for card through Nvidia/ATi directly, everything has to go through APPLE on OS X. It's sad when you have to wait months for an update from Apple just to play Starcraft 2 or TF2 properly. Even then, games run almost twice as well on my Windows7 partition (best thing I could ever do for gaming -- made a small 30GB partition and then installed all my games on a portable hard drive).
Thankfully we have people like Wolfire that is providing AWESOME casual-esque games for the Mac... I'm really happy about the collection of indie titles that have been compiled on my MBP, that I can pop up during class to goof off on without booting to Windows7. Still, if you want hardcore PC gaming on a Mac, you'll have to suffer that loss hard drive space for a proper gaming platform. I think it's worth it though... playing Dead Space 2 on my Macbook Pro never looked more beautiful.
