Agile Web Solutions takes over development of Knox

Espionage does mostly the same thing, and it has application templates to encrypt a particular application's files. And it's cheaper. I don't think it has the Spotlight integration but if I'm going through the trouble of securing my files, I probably know where to find them and don't need to use Spotlight.

The reason why the iPhone can't install the 1.3 GB app with 2.3 GB free is because of how installd works. When an app is installed, it's copied over to the iPhone from iTunes over USB, then installd deploys it. The .ipa file is extracted like a zip file to /tmp and authenticated against the user's iTunes account before being moved to ~/Applications. In this case, the 1.3 GB app requires 2.6 GB to install while the .ipa is extracted to /tmp.

I don't know why people are assuming you can't go back. I tried to install it and it failed (probably because I previously Jailbroke) and I was able to restore it to 2.2.1 just fine by holding command and clicking Restore and choosing the 2.2.1 ipsw file. Don't believe the FUD, restoring is dead simple.

GameStop or Amazon.com. I picked up a Rock Band guitar from Wal-Mart once because they were the only store in the area that had it in stock. Whatever you gotta do...

Will the iPhone 3G frolic in the summer sun?

My Verizon contract runs out in August and I'm definitely waiting for 3G before buying an iPhone. I'm also very curious to see what happens in the Android market. Verizon's coverage and reliability have been rock-solid for me- it's just their phones that suck.

Check out Nightly Tester Tools and disable extension version checking to get your extensions working again. Some of them still might not work, but at least then you'll know it's a programming error rather than a simple check of the version number. I'm using Greasemonkey on 3.0b1 without any problems, but I had to disable the version check to get it to install.
