Sony: We don't want the senior citizen gamers

Aug 6th 2008 3:54PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Gee - I'm almost 30 and just bought a Wii...I guess by Sony McDouche-berg's standards, I'm a "senior citizen?"

Dude, I'll buy yr VAIO laptop, but I think I'll spend my social security AARP money on new Wii games, thanks.

Awesome! I've always wanted to play a game that simulates part-time employment...you know, because when I'm not at work I enjoy pretending to be at work.

E308: Reggie baffled by outcry over conference

Jul 16th 2008 3:32PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
You know what would make me really stand up and take notice? When Wii developers look to the game community, homebrewers, and hackers to see what other kinds of possibilities can be done with their existing hardware. Kudos for adding better motion tracking Reggie, but what kind of FTW app would happen if some dev.team w/ buckets of money took it further and integrated some radical ideas into their interface and game theory? Imagine what kind of PS3/360 killer would emerge if some of Johnny Chung Lee's experiments (http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~johnny/projects/wii/) made it to the console - even on WiiWare.

Mark Rein: Epic seriously doesn't want to make Wii games

Jul 8th 2008 4:37PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
...um, I just bought a Wii based off of Wii Sports alone.
The last console I bought was a PS2 years ago, and I hadn't returned to gaming until the Wii made it FUN again. I got real tired of mindless FPS's and photorealistic sports games; they got old and the storytelling and gameplay just wasn't fun anymore. At this point, I wouldn't even download a pirated a copy of UT, because it's simply not interesting. Regardless of yr polygon count is, or how high you can clock your frames per second, or max out yr resolution, or make highly realistic textures - if your game isn't engaging, it's not going to last.
This Mark Rein scrotum-cheese should think about that before ripping on the Wii.

Well, since there's no Engadget Treo love for me, I figure one of these would be just as nice (and they have a flash on THEIR cameraphone...nyaahh.)

Check, Please! Bay Area

Feb 20th 2006 11:43AM (Slashfood)
Check, Please! is one of the best locally produced, locally-aired programs on TV in Chicago, so I have no doubt that its success can easily be replicated in the Bay Area...
