European PS3 owners are up in arms once again [Update]

Apr 17th 2008 9:11AM (Joystiq Playstation)
Wow, same for me, I was reading the post, and clicking "next page" I saw the removed sign...
Is SCEE using censorship? at least, it would mean they read forums and complains!!
But if they really deleted the thread, it'd be extremely shocking!!!

Rumour: 120GB+ PS3 on its way in rumble bundle?

Jan 28th 2008 11:52AM (Joystiq Playstation)
i'm pretty pissed SONY just doesn't give us the choice between a "deluxe" version, and a cheap one! There's no 60 GB version left in Europe! I have a jp 60GB one, and I'd like to have a Euro one! I want to enjoy my euro PS2 game UPSCALED (there're plenty of them I still haven't finished) and still listen to my SUPER AUDIO CDs if I want to. I'd keep my japanese PS3 to play my jap PS2 games and to watch locked Zone A Blu-ray discs....
Well, I just want to have a CHOICE to buy a COMPLETE version of PS3 if I want to. No matter if it's 100euro more expensive!

Obvious PS3 tricks you may have forgotten about

Nov 15th 2007 9:30AM (Joystiq Playstation)
You can add now with 2.00 the fact you can read SACD on 20/60/80 Go with an optical cable. Enjoy super sound and multicanal audio, you couldn't listen to with your HDMI cable before!!!

No, it's previewed in Japan by AV Watch, but not out until tomorrow. It'll obviously be a worldwide release.

Importing PS3 store content from Japan and Hong Kong

Dec 30th 2006 10:48AM (Joystiq Playstation)
No matter what I do, card isn't accepted, and I think this is partly because the adress doesn't correspond to the card. But still, I'm repeating myself, I did a totally fake one on the US store, everything went smooth. HK and Japan ones just don't accept my VISA. First I thought an asian visa was needed, but if you guys can go through it, why can't I? and I'm doing this from "account managment" and not through the store...

Microsoft demos Xbox 360 HD DVD player, menus [Updated image]

Aug 11th 2006 12:50PM (Engadget HD)
Hum.... I'v read all the comments, and everybody seems to deliberately forget that blue-ray is a key to next gen games, and also can read movies!!!

everybody complains about not be able to choose to have or not an HD-DVD or Blue Ray drive in a console instead of thinking: I choose not to buy a ps3 or a 360!! the choice is here!

Buying a ps3 is buying new technology for games: blue ray is more space for several languages, super sound, less compressed textures, etc etc. There's gonna be a time when developers will need that space! saying DVD is far anough is stupid. We would have stayed with a 15 meg cardrige if games didn't need space!

Having a HD-DVD on 360, why not if it's cheap. But I won't buy one on my 360, it's just useless.
Microsoft did great with XBL, but made a series of mistakes too when wanting to be first... (no hdmi, no next gen drive FOR GAMES, region coded games, no use of HDD for games either etc etc.).
Think again before always complaining about PS3 price and its "forced" blue ray player. better that way:not only can it delivers huge space for games and high quality sound and pictures, but it can play blue ray movies TOO!

The snow's done gone frozen up their brains, we reckon!

Well, everybody, what more to say? you're all right. Kind of guy who could burn money for fun because it's crumpled... well, doing this to a PSP is a way of doing it...
I hate seeing people destroying thingsand above all expensive ones! even so, seeing destroying a poor old NES would be sad too! at least, give that to somebody who cares, who can fix, or who collects!!! or sell it and give the money for charity... so sad and so shocking!

Film studios cut back on UMD titles

Feb 16th 2006 3:47PM (Joystiq)
Eevryone's comments make sense.
Too expensive, and limited.
What would be cool with more storage capacity to hold the same contents than a DVD (I mean exactly the same, as full TV resolution, and multi channel sound), media content especially available through psp menus, like film music in MP3/atrac, movie set pics, and even game demos. Then the idea of linking the psp to TV could be interesting, and no use of bying a dvd. Then they could sell small UMD players for TV, and add a UMD entry on PS3... but as UMD are not meant to be played on TV, as Ipod videos as well (pixel compression feast on big screen yeehaa!) and don't produce any Dolby digital sound, I don't really see the point in selling a TV adapter...
The bundle DVD/UMD solution is good, but they should have done this from the beginning!!!! (they exist in Japan... but for animation only, and very few titles... maybe just one...)
The only good solution is buying/renting videos/movies, in excellent UMD quality from the future connect store (if it is good) containing the excact same features a UMD can offer: original version and subtitles, chaptering, etc, etc. They have to upgrade the video section in future firwares to have more managing options (subfolders, genre/artist/name search etc.). It would be simpler to carry a movie just copied before getting in the plane/train etc. and without carrying 3000 UMD (game included).
I'm optimistic about this.
But SONY must increase the capacity of UMD. It'll be good for games also; lower UMD prices, and above all: LISTEN TO CONSUMERS!!!!
