Swag Saturday: Prototype and Wolverine for 360

Jun 28th 2009 7:36PM (Joystiq)
I've been reading Joystiq, we'll probably since back when it started. I wasn't here the day it launched, but the first time I followed a link from http://gamers.experimentations.org to Joystiq I was hooked! I also used to be a huge reader of Xbox360fanboy.com, though now I feel like I get most of the same news from you guys!

Keep on rockin'!

Canada getting PSN price adjustment due to strong currency

Apr 30th 2008 12:08PM (Joystiq)
So does this mean Microsoft will finally drop the 30% premium Canadians pay for MS Points? It's not like I'm not going to use the money I save to buy more MS points anyway. :P

Tim Schafer talks new-gen, suggests XBL MySpace features

Dec 7th 2006 7:28PM (Joystiq)
I totally agree with the article in the sense that MS needs to add more ways for people to interact with each other and to create content on the 360. The great thing about the Mii's is that you can go and create a Mii and then share your profile with all your friends. The 360 add things like a gallery where you can upload images and video from your games to Xbox Live and xbox.com. How cool would it be to be able to record yourself landing a trick in Tony Hawk then send a video of it to all your friends? That's the kind of social networking feature MS needs to add.

Moore: 360 sales to exceed 10 million goal

Dec 6th 2006 12:28PM (Joystiq Xbox)
I know up in Canada a lot of the stores had sales on the PS3 and Wii launch days to encourage people to buy 360s. It's also had really good word of mouth over the last year, and has impressed people with games like Gears of War and Xbox Live. Even my folks used to use mine to view pictures, listen to music and watch TV.

In terms of actualy numbers I know 6 people who got 360 in the last month, 5 people who got Wiis, and 0 who got PS3s.

In my personal opinion this kind of article rings true with what I've seen and I'm sure MS has seen a recent spike in 360 sales. Whether it continues over the holidays and is enough to push MS over 10 million remains to be seen.

Texas Hold 'em gets fixed ... finally

Nov 29th 2006 11:53AM (Joystiq Xbox)
Now if only they'd add support for the camera. Seeing how it was advertised as one of the games supporting the camera on the back of the camera box, I'm confused why camera support wasn't included in this update.

Weekend console sales winner, Xbox 360?

Nov 22nd 2006 1:26AM (Joystiq Xbox)
I know at my work 4 people went to BestBuy at lunch on Friday and got a 360 because no one wanted a PS3 and the 360 bundles where so good. My cousin also went to BestBuy and scored a premium 360 with gears, graw, and the arcade pack, plus an extra controller for $450 CAN. Considering a premium system normally sells for $500 CAN up here, I can believe this report.

Microsoft planning FPS-centric controller for Xbox 360?

IGN was speculating that MS might be adding a trackball instead of the right analog stick. http://digg.com/gaming_news/The_New_Xbox_360_Controller

Universal Studio's 'Slither' coming to HD DVD in October

Jul 19th 2006 12:04PM (Engadget HD)
I was away in India when this movie came out, but I've heard it was pretty good. Given the hybrid disc thing this might be the first HD-DVD film I purchase. I can watch it on my 360 when the drive for that finally comes out later this year.

Microsoft to pull a PS3, place motion sensors in Xbox 360 pad?

Jun 26th 2006 6:49PM (Joystiq)
Personally I think Microsoft is thinking about doing something with the camera. They took out a patent last year on a dual camera system which was really good at tracking objects in poor lighting. My guess is that they might release a motion capture system using cameras.
