Video Games Live holding another performance at E3

Apr 19th 2010 3:02PM (Joystiq)
There was one at the Kennedy Center a few years ago. I went; it was great.

It was, actually. I was surprised.

VC Tuesday: Bubble Bobble Wii rises to the top

Bzzt!

That's the buzzer sound I make when people are wrong.

While the last Bubble Bobble on a Nintendo system wasn't amazing, Bubble Bobble Revolution wasn't the last Bubble Bobble on a Nintendo system. Try Bubble Bobble: Double Shot.

The game was certainly not great, but at least there wasn't a game-breaking glitch.

Visual problem: the color schemes for the Xbox and Playstation areas are very distinct from the mothership, while the Nintendo one is just a bit lighter version of the blue. Suggestions: light gray (would better fit both systems), a blue that is closer to the Wii's glow than this, or...if you're keeping this console-agnostic Nintendo focus, good old Ninty red.

Light gray is probably the best solution.

Nobilis reveals Music, the game

Come on, Chris! It can't be an intriguing addition to the genre if it's essentially a carbon copy of an already-released game. Rhythm 'n Notes. Look it up. Or, you know, don't, because it's horrible.

Wii Warm Up: The most important import

How could I have forgotten Seiken Densetsu 3? And Terranigma. Both could do well, and Terranigma is already in English (albeit in Europe).

Wii Warm Up: The most important import

It did use the SNES/SFC Mouse, so we probably won't be seeing that.

That falls under the category of games where just a tweak or two would make it amazing. What if, for example, they released M&W and Mario Paint with the remote pointer emulating the mouse? Or the old Zapper and Super Scope games with emulated controls?

Wii Warm Up: The most important import

I'd love to see a bit more work put into translating some import titles, like the FC and SFC Fire Emblem games, Famicom Wars and Mother. More realistically, though, they could easily bring over Super Bomberman 5 (SFC) and Tetris 3 (SFC).

(It should go without saying that I'd buy anything from the Satellaview or 64DD. Those need a chance with a wider audience.)

Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball coming to Wii

"What can't you port onto that thing?"

Well...Mother 3, apparently.

Joyswag: Samsung 22" widescreen LCD monitor

One thing I have is a poster depicting an early version of Caslon in all its permutations. If I wasn't a graphic designer, it would be pretty weird to have.
