Sorry Rock Band, I've already pledged allegiance to Guitar Hero World Tour. So far I haven't seen you bringing anything new to the table, whereas World Tour will support my Les Paul and have comprehensive song editing modes. I'm open to whatever possibilities you may have to offer, but your insistence to keep mum on the details isn't inspiring much confidence. You'll simply have to do better than that.

Is this actually a big deal? Haven't brick-and-mortar businesses been doing this for years in the Yellow Pages? It seems like every class of business has several companies with nonsensical "AAA" monikers to artificially place themselves atop the rest. The difference with the App Store is that we are not bound solely to alphabetical listings, and can also view listings by popularity or release date (neither of which are particularly useful at this early stage, but give it a week and such methods will prove much more fruitful), or more importantly by category (and subcategory, in the case of games). If someone knows the name of the app they're looking for, they should just do a search for it and bypass such juvenile attempts to increase sales.

I suppose you're paying for the convenience of automated conversion to the ringtone file extension. If you have a lot of ringtones in a non-AAC format, it might save you some hassle. I do believe there is an appropriate market for this app, but since I only have one ringtone (CTU) and know how to dump audio into GarageBand and export to ringtone, I'm not in said market.

I was seriously considering upgrading my original iPhone to 3G, but all these tiny, seemingly arbitrary charges add up. Since all I wanted out of the 3G was GPS, I'll just go buy some dedicated hardware. ^__^

It's worse than that. It would have ended on June 28th even without the leap year, because the 365 day countdown started the day you purchased the phone (June 29th). With leap year, warranties end on the 27th. I bought mine a few weeks after opening, so I can't verify this, but having worked at a repair shop where people routinely bring in their Macs the very day of warranty expiration, I've had a lot of first-hand experience with the situation. If someone did buy their iPhone on launch day, they can look up the exact date of expiration on apple.com/support. Let us know what you find!
