Deutsche Telekom reportedly planning to offer e-book reader

No you're not the only one.. There are a few more geeks out there who never get tired of that old joke, unfortunately..

Nokia to pay German state ?1.3 million to settle Bochum dispute

Unbelievable how Nokia gets away with it..

Panasonic throws down 6 and 12GB SDHC cards

I think it's tricky to combine that exact amount of memory with the advertised HD-recording design..

Panasonic throws down 6 and 12GB SDHC cards

Finally an sd card with the perfect size. 8 wasn't enough and 16 just too much, with the 12 I'm finally happy..

T-Mobile Germany says sipgate makes jailbreaking too attractive

Jul 17th 2008 2:32PM (Engadget)
@ meist3r: An important point is: they haven't paid good money for it. Had they charged $999 for this device I would agree with you, but usage is calculated so that you can afford to buy the phone now.

@Pochi: You comparison is not adequate. The popular file can be consumed without BitTorrent, in a legal way. This product can only be used if you break the law.

T-Mobile is right on, why wouldn't they try to prevent that?

German "Future Store" lets you grocery shop with your cellphone

Jul 3rd 2008 1:29PM (Engadget)
They've had 'bonus systems' in the US long before they were introduced in Europe... Giant, Safeway, Exxon, .. cards.

Same with those annoying telemarketing phone calls, they've asked people to switch to Sprint long before they started asking people to switch to 'Arcor'.

The breeding grounds for agressive marketing and privacy-laws-bending technology have always been the good old US of A..

This won't be a success, though.. There have been attempts to get people to by movie tickets or soda cans with their cell phones, it didn't catch on..

Painting the town magenta

Apr 1st 2008 3:11PM (Engadget)
Magenta as the background color. How original and how funny. Most of all, how unexpected..

A lawsuit is what you get when you try to benefit from someone else's hard earned trade mark popularity. Yeah, big coincidence that the word 'mobile' should be the same color as the logo of a well known telecom company.

Engadget are amateurs, so I can understand their trying to get away with it, but this bickering and childish reaction just makes them look like tools.
