10% off Street Fighter IV FightPads and entire Capcom Store order

Hmm... PS3 description says they are 2.4 Ghz Wireless controllers, which I likely would believe requires a USB dongle. Any confirmation on this?

Wii Warm Up: Downloadable regrets

Jan 4th 2009 1:54PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Try before buying. In the case of World of Goo, you can download the first Chapter demo from www.2dboy.com on PC or Mac, Linux version coming soon.

The only difference I think between the PC version and Wii, is that the Wii allows up to four people at once to place goo pieces on a puzzle, and the Wii version is $5 cheaper.

More people browse the net on PS3 than Wii

Dave, controls on the PS3 controller aren't that bad, but even if you ascertain they are, you do realize that any bluetooth mouse can be used with the PS3?

I like the quick zoom controls with the Wii, but clicking on a link is a drag sometimes.

Anyway, I think web browsing on any console is a horrible experience. Generally much, much slower and certainly not as sharp/detailed when compared to browsing on a computer.

Wii clinches bronze in console usage stakes

PS3 is on daily...
I got a small BluRay collection over Christmas to watch, I use it to play DVDs and the media playback to watch XVid TV/movies stored on the computer elsewhere.
There are a couple games that keep me coming back (PixelJunk series, LittleBigPlanet, Ratchet and Clank, and Buzz TV for parties)

Wii is rarely turned on. Just doesn't seem to be much replayability for me.

Probably a 95% PS3, 5% Wii split over a given month.

LittleBigPlanet glitch may erase parts of your save data

Some other stuff to watch out for... I was goofing around with a level I had created, 50% of the maximum object level size. Tried out the paintinator, shooting around the level in Edit mode.

I had a cardboard cutout set around a house sticker, which is rather large. While shooting the paintinator at another object, suddenly, the very large house sticker, with very little paint residue on it disappeared entirely, leaving a cardboard cutout. Cool weapon, but definitely level creation is a fine balance act in order to minimize bugs.

American PSN releases for December 23rd

Just finished off LBP MGS levels, and gotta say, only really two levels to really sink teeth in to, BUT, the items will unlock a whole new level of fun I think, once people start building levels with guns and new triggers. Funny storyline with the MGS levels though...

Interesting that the music and levels were delivered with the 1.07 update... the MGS download is only a megabyte in size.

Rumor: Home is coming on Dec 17th? [Update]

Dec 9th 2008 12:12AM (Joystiq Playstation)
The article should also mention that the rumor is to make the OPEN BETA available over the next 10 days, NOT the final release.

Not expecting any sort of fireworks. The service really requires a good headset to make it interesting, and certainly game rooms to make it worth the effort to load.

Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection announced for early 2009

As far as I'm concerned, Master System was defined by Alex Kidd in Miracle World, Wonder Boy 1, 2, and 3, Outrun, Hang-On, Shinobi (1 only, after that, junk), and Phantasy Star. A lot of junk on that list above, which is a shame, as the Master System was a good game system.

Sony on DLC: 'Nothing is ever exclusive'

Oct 29th 2008 2:48PM (Joystiq Playstation)
Ironic comment about R&D...

When Playstation 2 was introduced, lots of complaints from developers on how difficult it was to code for, because of the Dev tools. I've heard similar rumblings about the PS3, and the different processors that can be utilized... it isn't easy. From what I've always heard, the development tool engine apparently lacks compared to the XBox alternative.

Sure, MS has invested heavily in exclusives, but they've got a pretty solid software platform for developers to show their stuff. I don't think Sony can quite say the same... then again, they don't have hardware issues. Developers need effective tools to show off the PS3, which I think will come in time, but MS certainly gives Devs lots of tools to work with from the getgo.
