The Root of All Evil - the pilot taping

Apr 11th 2007 12:25PM (AOL TV)
This show sounds excellent. I still miss Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn. While it was uneven, it was great to see the comedians get off the script and start in on other topics (including each other).

Hope it makes it to the air.

Short-Lived Shows: Voyagers!

Jon-Erik Hexum actually actually attended the same college and major as me. Whenever he came into our classes, the women all completely swooned. And a few of the men.

Is a view the same as a hit ???

I've always said HITS stands for How Idiots Track Success. I know for streaming audio it measureable how much people actually listen to the stream. We see reports on the average listening time which tells you how "deep" people get into the stream. I'm not aware of a corresponding measurement for a podcast. I thought you just got subscription numbers for metrics.

Second Life: scalin' on up

Those folks may have a Second Life account, but they probably need to Get a Life (not the defunct Chris Elliot Fox sitcom.)

Nathan's correct. No fun = no issues with scalability.

China tightens grip on Internet usage

Feb 16th 2006 12:52PM (Joystiq)
It's not just a Google fiasco. Right now representatives from Google, Cisco, Mircosoft and Yahoo are testifying before Congress about their actions in relation to the Chinese government's attempt to restrict the flow of information into China. x7 is right--it's about censorship.

The best thing we can do is try to get the info flow opened up into China so everyone there can see that cybercafes (and karoake) don't make the world end.

Don't forget that this internet censorship is brought to you by the same government that ran tanks over protesting students. The Chinese governement is hypersensitive to any criticism has outlawed some religions and still occupies Tibet.
