Everyone who follows PC's and consoles know its really a OLD ass G71 or G70 as the third link describes.
In the third link page 3 they even talk about HDR and AA which the G71 AKA 7800GTX can't do it at the same time. You will have to disable and enable one or the other. ATI has been able to do it since the x1800.
Page 4 then describes about the future. Unified Shaders, which the last time I read X360 GPU can do Unified Shaders. G71 or G70 as the Nvidia guy calls it, can't do Unified Shaders. Only now until the G80 which was recently release can. The next ATI card due out in FEB will also do Unified Shaders. So as of todays writing only 2 cards can do Unified Shaders. Nvidia G80 for the PC and the X360 GPU. "not to be confused as CPU"

One ? why is it that MGS is always talked about in the Sony camp as .. OHHH my wait for MGS..? I see it as this. MGS doesn't have the pull it once did. If MGS 1 and 2 sold 13.6 million, that averages to 6.8 for each title. Now MGS sells okay in europe, US, and Japan. That =s to 2.26mil per region. (estimate only, not 100% accurate) Sony has sold 35 million in US, so that accounts to 6% attach rate per title in the US. Dont even let me bring up #'s of MGS 3 as it sold half of that of 1 and 2. Leads me to believe MGS franchise is loosing alot of steam. Now Halo. They sold 14.7 total. Reality is only in 2 regions as japan only sold total of 50,000 copies of both combine. So 14.7 now = 14.65 in two regions. Average for both titles are 7.3 mil for each title. In US that averages to 3.65 mil per title. Xbox sold 14.37 mil in the US.

Thats why to me MGS is not a threat to Halo. Not especially after how MGS 3 did. Now imagine how US has 3.4mil 360 sold and Gears sold 1 million.? That is almost 30% attach rate. More than what Halo did.

My 2 cents are. HD DVD will be a bit hard to beat. Movie quality is better or = of that of blue ray. So why pay more on stand alone 800-1000$ player when you can buy a 200-500 player.? So far in the stand alone player war hd dvd is winning and selling more movies.

Also people who buy a hd dvd add on for 360, are doing it cause they WANT to buy next gen movies. So the attachment rate of software for every hddvd addon will be high. Because they are specifically buying it for MOVIES only. Thus I can only assume they already have a HDTV to play it on. Lets say 200,00 hd dvd's addons are sold by this year. Every single one of them will have sold 2-3 movies atleast when they first bought it and many more later.
Now if PS3 sells 600,000 by year end my guess would be 50% wont buy movies cause they are kids and dont care about HD movies . That leaves you with 300,000. Take away another 20% of non HDTV owners = 240,000. So you have 240k possible hd movie buyers. I would say take away another 30% that wont buy them cause they bought it to play games not movies. That leaves 168,000 possible? to buy movies and that maybe turn to 1 -2 movies sold and many more as they go.
See my drift, we may have (my example) 200,000 hddvd selling alot of movies compare to 168,000 possible movie purchases? I think thats why the ps3 hasn't even made a dent in sales. IF you look at this link the #1,2,3 hddvd ranks are #386, 420, 628 in overall sales. As supposed to Blue ray #1,2,3 ranks are #844, 1716, 1982 overall dvd sales. This is as of 12-11-06.

If you look at the November sales for xbox in 01,02,03,04 they average around 470k. With 01 launch being the best one. In 05 I dont count it as 360 launched. So for them to estimate 700k? What are they smoking. Keeping pace at 470k and with 2 new heavy hitters I think is good. If you look at december sales for xbox for 01,02,03,04 they average 1mil. So for dec 06 they should hit 900k to 1 Mil. If they have made enough to sell. As for a comparison of the months after the first year 360 averages 200k while xbox only average maybe 140k. Nintendos' model this gen is a good one. I see it as going back to basics. When NES launched in the 80's I remember everyone in my family having fun. Yes I had already coleco vision, and atari 2600 but Nintendo revolutionzed Home gaming. Duck hunting was a blast for the whole family while for me Super Mario was the shitz. Nintendo has always have G rated games for everyone and good ones at that. Growing up Nintendo was a blast. I've had alot of systems. Nintendos new Wii reminds me of that. Fun for the whole family. Their attention to fun has always been exellent non rivaled by anyone else. They will always sell systems along as new kids get into videogames. To me that itselft is great as we need a change in direction to the whole videogame industry. Microsoft and sony seems to be taking a different direction and it would have been awful to see all 3 companies doing the same thing. At least the WII gives gamers a different look at gaming which is ment to have fun.

As for LMAO yes the HD movies on Live are HD WMV from what I know and just to say I rented Posiedon in HD 720p 7.5 gigs and wow it looked great, also sound is in 5.1 dolby. I have also rented Deep Blue Sea in 480p 1.5gigs and it look very good also. But for HD-dvd you get 1080I/P depending on a movie + True HD dolby digital. As a estimate the same movie In 1080P + better audio will probably take around 15gigs or More with all those trailers and menus. Yes MS HD downloads are great for 720p 7.5gigs but if you want 1080I/P you will have get a HDDVD or Blue ray.

Exactly. Alot of people think that ps2 did good and sold 100mil. Which they did. I had a ps2 in the first two years. But with no competition. Xbox to alot of gamers was a joke and thus didn't buy it. I was a PC fan and bought a xbox and wow was I happy. Alot of my other family members which didn't like xbox at all.. (umm duh never heard of xbox) said damm I will never buy a xbox. Fast ffwd to today and guess what system they play and wont play.? They play 360 and wont even play their ps2. Times change just like everything else. Ask GM if times have changed or not.?

20,000 combined for both formats in 1 week and that is a record. While DVD sells how much?? 3.7 million in the same timeframe. DVD's Aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Not in these generation of gaming. I for one hate both formats as I think we dont need it yet. But if where to put money on one would be HD DVD due to better video and has a dual hybrid dvd and hd dvd on the other side.
