James Cameron, Piranha 3D actor Eli Roth speak up in support of 3D conversions

Aug 19th 2010 9:47AM (Engadget HD)
Piranha 3D - when I saw this trailer I thought it was one of those spoof movies like Scary Movie - kinda poking fun at the whole 3D abuse.

I wish my initial thought was true, since this movie looks utterly terrible.

No Epic 4G or Droid 2? Or is this for phones that came out by a certain date?

@Chris Ziegler hahaha I love how you called him out on this.

I hate non-direct replies, they're just too lazy to scroll to the bottom. When people are too lazy to scroll with one finger, I fear the worst for humanity.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 officially debuts on AT&T: $130 on contract

@pika2000 But I think the important lesson here is that we both think it's crappy and sad that this phone is not being utilized to its fullest potential.

@pika2000 You are kidding me, right? Of course AT&T doesn't make their phones.

My point is that carriers will gimp their phones. Verizon USED to be the one who did it. Remember the HTC Touch Pro? GPS locked out (unless you used VZ Nav) on Verizon but left alone for other carriers. Also I believe the RAM was half of what every other variant of the Touch Pro had on different carriers.

Verizon used to be the carrier most guilty of gimping their phones and now it's AT&T. Before the Captivate and Aria came out, what other full featured touchscreen only phones did AT&T have? The Diamond 2/Pure. THAT'S IT, no other touchscreen only smartphone.

Are you serious though, you didn't know carriers had a say in the design and build of cellphones that they subsidize (usually paying for more than half of the "cost" of the phone)? You think it's solely HTC's desire to have only certain phones on one network and certain phones on another? Wake up man.

@LANjackal
shouldn't it be:
"1.6? This is laughable
/commits suicide"?

I mean, once you've committed, you kinda can't talk or type... just sayin'.

ok, so both the Xperia X10 and Captivate have:
1 ghz processors (snap and hum respectively)
decent/good camera (except Captivate has no flash)
Android (but X10 has 1.6)
internal storage (which is nice)

This is almost as if Samsung, Sony, and AT&T all decided "let's make an awesome phone... except severely gimp it in one department, or a little bit on a couple. More proof either AT&T sucks or AT&T sucks the iPhones gonads.

Screen Grabs: Ari Gold will definitely fire this guy once he notices he's using an iPad

@Sax25 Hahaha yeah I was like "whoahhhhhh he's fucked up!" and "thank god he passed out stomach down."

Other than the ending, the episode was pretty good. Poor Turtle. Then again at least he gets to act with Dania Ramirez, who is my current idol.

@Rick James True, I forgot this is "Back to School"

But some rich bastards can afford it, who knows if they're smart enough to read about shit online first before buying though.

And there are those students who get scholarships and the money mom and dad saved up for them can be frivolously spent... for now.

There should have been a fourth category that was Money's No Object and the third called "Saved up all Summer for this" and had D5000 and Canon T2i in the third category. Canon 7D and Nikon D700 for Money's No Object.
