Honestly... they don't need it to sell games, maybe it helps consoles- but that's over for a few years. Game developers will be able to push their demos out to next generation consoles (wifi) and let the gamers decide for themselves. When the next set of consoles needs a hype machine- a tradeshow will be held. Each company MS, Sony, and Nintendo now has a direct connect to their customers. Why spend millions to let journalists try and make up minds.
I don't think the IPhone is coming. I think Mobile ILife is coming. Microsoft has the business side of smart phones covered... why won't Apple scoop up the entertainment side. Phones that can access Itunes music store, mobile Iphoto, etc. Makes much more sense than just doing a phone. Or maybe it doesn't.
it sounds great to me. And it shouldn't take grand gestures to accomplish this stuff. It's not going to be the same game as it used to be, so the folks who've spent their whole lives mastering and memorized which buttons spin, jump, juke, and dive will be on an even playing field. It just sounds so much better than push the right shoulder button to shift your line left- just press a button pre-snap and move the line left. Same with setting a man in motion. I also hope they'll bring back lateral passes. it would be great.
Agent USA... I want to battle the fuzz in 3D. King's Quest (always fun) Space Quest (Hilarious) Miner 2049er Archos? is that right? Jumpman Marble Madness Bard's Tale
Gamecube games looked just fine, IMO. Yeah, games on the XBOX360 can have an incredible level of detail, which does add to the realism, and therefor fun of many genres. The Rev can't compete graphically, so it's gonna compete on a different level- immersion. The revmote won't paint in broad strokes, but little movement. I'm hoping Madden will use this feature to throw overhand and sidearm...and they could use follow through to dictate power. Also, running with the ball would be fantastic if you could use the numchuck to control, and the revmote to juke left and right, to jump and dive. A little twist left or right could spin. Intuitive controls. Please.....
It'll be May. The push it too far after E3, they'll get people saving their duckets for the Revolution (or whatever they're going to name it). I'd look for E3 to show connectivity between the devices though, and hopefully the launch of their VoIP.
Doesn't this make sense for those of us who don't walk around a whole lot, but would like some gps functions, in car movies, dedicated music device (for hanging out in the park, hooking up in the car...not just walking around- we don't all live in New York or on college campuses.
I have an G3 Ipod with a dead battery. I've known for sometime unless I want to go through the CD burning nightmare to rid myself of DRM that I would have to buy another IPOD... until now. UMPC with ITunes- brilliant.
It's not a horrible idea... I think it'll catch on as a vehicle oriented device. GPS for me, movies for the kids, music for all.
If the price is right- it's not a completely horrible idea.
It all comes down to whether or not it works. If the Revolution works as advertised, and the new interface/controller works with precision, it will be HUGE. If it works so-so, critics will pummel it to death and it will destroy big-N's console cred. I'm hoping it works. I've never had more fun playing XBOX or PS games than I have playing Nintendo's. Call them kiddie if you want, most of them are intuitive and addictive while still managing to be challenging.
They're all on the island for a reason... and were hand-picked by members of the Dharma group (others) conducting a large-scale social experiment on the island.
guy in the hatch=other (how do we know he wasn't just waiting for survivors to find him)talked to Jack about his faith and his science.
CIA guy=other, guided Sayid toward his true nature and pretty much told him that he was going to need the skill down the road
I'm sure everyone of them has a similar experience to share- and was selected for a reason. Now, I don't know how the crash worked... or if perhaps the plane was loaded with "chosen" people, and it didn't matter if everyone survived.
this theory doesn't account for numbers and monsters... but perhaps that's what the dharma initiative is trying to research.
If it's a science project... then my bet is the scientists' henchmen "others" nabbed walt because they saw what he can do... and want to study/use him. There's probably some state of the art complex the survivors will find at the end of season four.
the ONE thing that bugs me... is the the other 35 or so survivors are content to run around doing nothing. If someone told me that they've blown open a large metal hatch... I'm going that way. What else better is there to do?
