How to fix Final Fantasy
Dec 3rd 2011 10:48AM (Joystiq)I was exactly where you were (gettin' PISSED), but as you read the rest of the article the tone becomes more clear: the author is clearly being sarcastic. What I find troubling is that Square will likely take these words to heart.
With that being said, the Way To Fix Final Fantasy is to put it back on Nintendo where it belongs. I played all three initially available in the states (I,IV,VI), and while I was as blown away by VII as everyone else back then, it was clear that some kind of magic had been lost along the way.
All they really have to do for FFXV is peg Sakaguchi-san to design and direct, get Yoshitaka Amano on as character designer, and confine them and Nobuo Uematsu into a hotel suite with nothing but LSD-punch and a Wii U development kit.
Best. Game. Ever.
Kevin Butler shows us the epic side of PlayStation Move
Sep 2nd 2010 9:00PM (Joystiq)"Just look at the image above and tell us the guy isn't CEO material. Heck, even better: watch the new PlayStation Move ad for yourself past the break and try to tell us it isn't the highlight of your day!"
Was anybody else let down after reading that and then watching the video? I think Butler's hilarious for sure, but was this ad really representative of hilarity? In my opinion. it was not.
Modern Warfare 2 glitch unlocks five SNK XBLA games
Aug 10th 2010 6:39PM (Joystiq)"Am I tempted to download free games? Sure.
Am I a douchebag that steals? No.
Shame on whoever does this. Theft = theft, no matter which way you spin it. "
Your idealism is noble, but still your failure. You download the full game TO PLAY THE TRIAL DEMO, the exploit simply allows you to play it.
If one of your friends had one of these games on a physical medium that you have a console for, let's say the DSi hypothetically , and you used it for a month, would you feel compelled to turn yourself into the police for theft?
If SNK sent you a copy of a game on a physical medium that you have a console for, with the intent to play the 1st few levels as a trial, and you found you could play all the levels--and did--would you commiserate yourself as a dirty thief?
There are more important things in this life, people. Don't allow the big companies of the world to rape your wallet and then feel bad if you end up ahead for once. They don't care about you.
Rumor: Batman: Arkham Asylum CE only affordable for Bruce Wayne
Mar 16th 2009 12:24PM (Joystiq)As long as you sheep keep enabling the developers to rape our wallets by charging for things that should already be included from Day 1, they will.

Jan 20th 2009 5:38PM (Joystiq)Let's see - Crackdown and GTA...no similarities there, pal? Isn't Fable 2 fundamentally a sandbox, too? So other than Moto GP, isn't there more in common, than not?
What we should take from this is: A new developer is in around who is experienced in making AAA sandbox and racing games.
Not bad.

XBLM Holiday Deal of the Week: Legendary Map Pack for 400 points
Dec 9th 2008 12:38PM (Joystiq Xbox)Considering that Microsoft sets DLC prices, and Bungie isn't part of M$ anymore, the statement means only that they're not privy to any plans to make it free (if there are any at all).
It probably will be free, eventually. But they're using ambiguous language to increase demand and convince people who are on the fence to buy it.
I personally bought it as the "deal" (400 points), knowing that it will probably be free. But $5 is what I consider the right price, so I wanted to let MS know that.
