MS responds to new heatsink in 360s

Jun 14th 2007 10:27PM (Joystiq Xbox)
I've had my 360 for over a year and according to 360voice.com, I have played it over a 120 days in a row up to today for multiple hours each day and I have never had a RRoD or any disc scratching problems. I honestly believe there failure rates aren't as widespread as everyone on the internet claims. I think it's just people being more vocal than anything.

Todd McFarlane custom Halo 3 accessories

Jun 12th 2007 11:58PM (Joystiq Xbox)
I've been meaning to pick up a wireless headset, and if this new Halo 3 one has all the issues fixed that the current one has, then yes, I will be picking it up. I love my Halo 2 plantronics headset, and I think it's about time to upgrade.

"Hidden Fronts" screenshots hit the tubes

Get over yourselves. Gears is THE Killer App for the 360 and Epic has been great. We got free maps and a gametype already. They have been working hard on these new ones and they need to pay their employees. And, for those patient people, it's free in September. Quit complainging and enjoy the fact that you can make choices and add to an alreadfy amazing game.

Box Art unveiled from The Darkness

Seriously? A game where you can kill someone with a jackhammer, summon a darkling to eat enemy heads, and do all sorts of other nasty, dark things is not going to be good. I mean, who wants all that senseless blood and gore. And the mafia genre? So overdone...

If you can't sens my sarcasm, you're dead to me... this game is going to fucking awesome!

Gears of War COG tag videos are the new horse armor

Apr 26th 2007 5:29AM (Joystiq)
Joystiq, Xbox360Fanboy, and all the Marketplace haters need to get off their high horse...

What's the difference between this and buying the guide in the store? Some people like the convenience of a motion picture visual. I don't see why it's a bad thing that Microsoft is trying to flood it's marketplace with content. In the math I was taught in high school, something is always better than nothing.

Let's also remember that the prices are dictated by the Publishers, which in this case is Brady Games, not MS or Epic. Yell at them by NOT BUYING their content. Get of Microsoft's back for trying to provide for their fan-base. Everyone has been all over them for every little transaction that has come out on the Marketplace, especially GHII. Well, they must be doing something right because they are selling stuff like crazy. I own a bunch of arcade games, download regularly from the video marketplace (Red vs. Blue FTW), and buy all the expansions for my favorite games.

People forget that this has never happened before on a console. (Yes, I know it has been tried before, but never had this much success). Microsoft is truly in unchartered waters. Sure, expansions and DLC has been huge on a PC for a long time, but come on, the 360 is a little white box that can play games, stream tons of media, and download movies in HD and expansion packs for games. It's pretty damn cool, and of course there are going to be hiccups along the way. If you don't want the stuff, don't f-ing buy it. Simple.

Besides, all the people who are commenting on this site are the internet savvy people out there. They can go to a GameFaqs or YouTube and find whatever they need. I'm sure there are some people out there who like the convenience of being able to download the videos for the COG tags. I also don't remember this big of a fuss when the other Gears strategy guide downloads (also at 100 MSpts) were released back in December. I'm pretty sure this is just a continuing backlash from the "expensive" GHII content.

Do I think that some content is too expensive? Sure, I'd be crazy not to think that. Do I need to get up in arms over every new piece of content released on the Marketplace? No. MS is already aware of the community's concerns on this matter. It's really as simple as not buying it, or posting websites that have the content for free. But on the whole, I think the content is actually fairly priced. The new Rainbow Six: Vegas content is full of stuff and for only 800 points its a steal. The new Halo 2 maps at 2 bucks each, another steal. I know many of you think MS is out for the almighty dollar, and I'm sure that's a big motivation, but if you look at their Xbox division's revenue (or lack thereof), I'd say they have most of our interests at heart. Give them some chances, things will work out. They always do for Gates and his crew.

Wow, I bet if they have a "Collect All Cars" Achievement it will be a bitch to get and hopefully be worth AT LEAST 100 GS. 310?!!? That's so much harder than the all those orbs in Crackdown... Can't wait for the demo!

Behold! BD's random dungeon creator

Apr 19th 2007 11:29PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Think Diablo I/II. It's always going to be different. Sounds really refreshing. It will add lots of replay value to the game. I hope it is included when it's released stateside, or at least available shortly after release.

Final Fantasy XIII series 'not exclusive to PS3 and mobile,' 360 ports still nonexistent

Apr 18th 2007 8:07PM (Joystiq)
It can always be on multiple disks on the 360. I don't know why everyone is against multiple discs.
