In fact, introducing God and an afterlife negates faith, because faith assumes you do not have evidence of God or an afterlife. Once you have said evidence, faith is no longer required.

Same as BSG.

Disagree - religion was always there in BSG, it became an actual God in the final episode.

The writing on this show is TERRIBLE. I'd rank it as third grade level. FlashForward isn't much better.

Perhaps the eminent bloggers of all things TV may have noticed that almost every show on every major network is not showing new episodes during the Olympics?

Could that have something to do with the decent ratings, there's absolutely nothing else to watch? I've been burning through my Netflix queue lately because my Tivo remains all but silent.
