What are the top 10 DS games of all time?

May 16th 2007 11:58AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
My two cents...(or should it be TEN cents?)

1- New Super Mario Bros.
2- Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
3- Metroid Prime Hunters
4- Elite Beat Agents
5- Castlevania Portrait of Ruin
6- Advance Wars Dual Strike
7- Nintendogs (any)
8- Brain Age
9- Mario Kart DS (c'mon, the multiplayer alone is worth the price...)
10- Final Fantasy III

Just my opinion, and we all know that opinions are like armpits and elbows...we've all got 'em and they all stink.

Original voices of Transformers hired for latest game

Apr 9th 2007 3:28PM (Joystiq Playstation)
I both loved and hated that movie. For a cartoon spin-off film, it was pretty good. I hated Rodimus-Prime, though. The entire second generation Transformers thing sucked. The show didn't get good again until they brough back Optimus.

Wii Warm Up: Your favorite so far

Apr 5th 2007 9:58AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Zelda was great, but I'm really loving Godfather: Blackhand Edition right now. Multi-player champ is naturally Wii Sports.

What are you playing: return of honor edition

Still trying to establish my firm grip on Little Italy in Godfather. Just have the two warehouse compounds left before I have it all on lock-down. Then I guess it'll be on to Midtown or Hell's Kitchen. Lovin' the game. Wii controls make it SO much better.

Should we be hyped for more Mario & Sonic?

I'm just amped that there may finally be an Olympics video game that doesn't totally suck. These types of games are usually thrown together with such disregard to the gameplay dynamics that I've almost always been disappointed (with the possible exceptions of Decathalon for the Atari 2600, and Track n' Field for the NES). I love watching the Olympics, and hope that, with this being a first-party title, it will finally do the games some justice. Bring it on!

DS Daily: Toward handheld dominance

Mar 25th 2007 11:32AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I do spend more time playing DS than my other console (yes, it's the other one in the picture above), but that is mostly due to the fact that I have more down time away from the home than I do at the home. Not a complaint. Just an observation. I love both of my Nintendo products, and wish I could get more time in with the Wii. Unfortunately I just don't get a lot of game time at home.

Wii Warm Up: Toward satisfaction

Mar 25th 2007 11:21AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Perhaps Nintendo is having trouble finding a reliable source for the duct tape they are using. They certainly have plenty of Gamecubes to to tape together. So, it's got to be the tape, right?

No, really. I got laughed at by family and friends for waiting in line on launch day. Now, I'm laughing at them for not being able to find one, and after trying mine over the holidays they ALL want one.

Love my Wii. Feel sorry for those who want one, but can't seem to get their hands on one. Hopefully the situation will resolve itself before too many people get bitter from the hunt.

PSP vs Wii: graphics showdown

Mar 23rd 2007 8:15PM (Joystiq Playstation)
Yeah...the Wii graphics do look a bit better than the PSP's. It would be a sad situation if they didn't though. Still the main thing to keep in mind is that the engine is optimized for the PSP, not the Wii. All the same, it's pretty cool that the PSP's graphics are doing well enough to hold up so strongly with a "current-gen" console (albeit the runt of the bunch).

WRUP: too many to decide edition

Mar 23rd 2007 12:33PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Playing Godfather: Blackhand Edition. Loving it. Choaking out thugs is a sheer joy. Some of the controls take a little getting used to, but overall it's a fantastic experience. The graphics are a mixed bag. Sometimes they are really good, other times they aren't. Still looks much better than it would on the PS2 and on par with the XBOX version. I only hope they handle Scarface this well (if not better).

Ultimate Duck Hunting quacks its way onto the Wii

Mar 22nd 2007 12:19PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Shooting the dog would be nice, but I'd rather be able to shoot a lawyer friend in the face!

Seriously, if they do it right, the game could be good fun, but they're going to have to really make a solid effort.
