DS Daily: The Non-Gathering

Feb 20th 2008 10:59AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
My friends and I used to stay up all night playing MTG. I think this would be a great game for the DS. I'd definitely buy it and play it.

Wii Warm Up: Channel surfin'

I don't understand why Nintendo didn't create a single channel for each virtual console and then have a scroll list of the games you downloaded for play. For example, you would see a single "NES" channel and when you select it you get a scroll list of all of the NES games downloaded.

Wii Warm Up: Channel surfin'

People play games for all kinds of reasons...not just to beat the game. I play some games because I want to beat them, some because they are just fun to play again, others because they are fun to play with friends, etc. So I have a lot of VC games that I would prefer to be able to play whenever the urge hits. I shouldn't have to shuffle data around. That is a design flaw.

What are you playing: a new dawn edition

"new" Mario Bros!

I'm an old-schooler and I have to say I think this game is freakin' awesome! It is everything I loved about all the Mario sequels rolled up into this one game, plus lots of creative new ideas. This will be a staple in everyone's collection.

Metareview: Children of Mana

I think the dungeon crawling version will probably be considered an improvement.

I agree w/ DSGirl. The story line from the SNES version was okay but not as captivating as the reviews claim. I probably enjoyed playing Diablo more anyway. If I want a story I'll read a book. Game play is number one w/ me.

Demo disks are dumb, doomed, Dodo-like

The only thing that would make sense is offering game downloads as an OPTION as opposed to buying the physical media. Microsoft, Macromedia, Adobe, etc. all have to deal with piracy but I've never heard them threaten to do away with the ability of the consumer to buy a physical copy of their product. EB needs a reality check as they have been the biggest promoter of this idea.

Drakedog's suicide: now on Google Video

Cyberclaws >> I read between the lines. You're response is good but I wasn't referring to your post specifically. Check out post #15. Yep, I'm defensive!

Drakedog's suicide: now on Google Video

Note: Please respect one's right to choose how one's time is spent, whether that be playing games with other gamers on-line, or sitting at the local coffee shop discussing some other trivia. Do what you like and let others do the same. All comments about getting a life and how gamers are "wasting" time are lame! Most people are aware of the various activities how they can spend their free time and choose the one that most interests them. In reality, either activity could appear silly and pointless depending on the likes and interests of the individual. If you like to play games...play games! If you like to read books...read books! Whatever it is...do it and stop trying to label others as different and bad. Now, let's all go sit around the campfire, drink hot cocoa, hold hands and sing songs! :)

Happy Birthday Zelda! 20 years old today

Nobody has mentioned the horrible television rap commercial for the original Zelda..."Tek-Tek-Tektites!"

Sony: PS3 launch will (or won't) be delayed

Feb 20th 2006 1:51PM (Joystiq)
Well, you can tell by the anxiety in everyone's comment's that they really are interested in the PS3. Otherwise, why bother posting? Anyway, like Sony is the only company in history that has ever failed to deliver on a promise or miss a deadline. If you hired somebody to build a house for you and they went over their target completion date, would you tell them you're going to move in anyway? What if there's no roof on the house? Still want to move in? No, you'd wait until it's finished because you know having a roof on the house will make it much easier to live there. Okay, so Sony hasn't delivered yet. Big deal. Better to check and double check everything BEFORE sending orders to production. Right?! So everybody relax. In the meantime, there are a lot of great games out there to play.
