Sins - perfect example of how a PC game should be in the modern age. A friend of mine pirated it first, got so into it he persuaded me and a few others to buy it along with him. Cheap enough on steam to make it an easy purchase but expensive enough for them to make some money still, $20 or so I think? So they made 3 genuine sales out of 1 pirate download they never would have made if it wasn't pirated.
uhh the cynic in me says these are maps that are probably fully developed waiting to go that are being held back so they can make more money. I'm always going to be in support of dlc because it gives consoles just a small slice of what PCs have been enjoying for years - but it's clearly being abused as a simple money maker by a lot of developers.
I got the game when it first came out, but like many people just stuck with playing wow.
I came back on several of the free weekends and liked it enough, but just not quite enough to warrant paying for that as well as wow.
I would love to come back and just enjoy casually levelling a character to the max level I can get to, just every now and again. I'm quite a big tolkien fan so it's something I've wanted to do.
only just a few days ago I downloaded twisted metal 2 for a psx emulator now that I'm running it through my hdtv with controllers, and well, even with the authentic controllers and nice tv - it was so bad. how did we play this crap? I used to love it as well
I got the first one around the time Wiis came out.
Honestly it was one of the worst games I had ever played. I buy a lot of games, but this won't be one of them purely because of how bad the original was.
There are loads of great games out at the moment or coming out across all the platforms, you'd have to be seriously rich to consider buying this new if you'd played the original.
I don't even care if it's a totally different game, my experiences from the first one have burnt me for good and I suspect it's the same for a lot of people.
The thing with WoW is, you press forward and your character instantly moves forward, you release the key and he stops dead.
I know it sounds simple but there isn't another MMO out there (and I've played most of the big ones and a fair few smaller ones) that just "feels right".
I'm much more a fan of open world pvp and bigger raids (loved daoc) but I've spent more time playing wow than any other game purely because of the extreme polish it has. It's so easy to play and once you get hooked into a good community it becomes hard to let go until that guild falls apart, at least that seems to be my cycle with me.
I recently completed the game on co-op with a friend - don't have any real desire to go for playthrough 2.
Only real reason I'm posting is to say how horrible I think the cell shaded graphics are. I actually thought they were kinda ok at first, then I saw the original art design they had from some pre-release screenshots and it just looked about 10x better.
I know it's all subjective but it really pisses me off there are people out there in the world that think this actually looks good, because you've ruined the look of this game for me. :(
