No Wrath without Burning Crusade
Sep 17th 2008 5:44PM (WoW)Truth be told if you are complaining about paying the 70 bucks to get into the game you're probably going to complain about the monthly charge no matter the price.
Let Blizzard do whatever they need to to ensure great games.
World of Warcraft graphics overhaul 'probable,' says producer
May 16th 2008 2:50PM (Joystiq)First off im not a WoW fan. i AM an RTS fan. and if yo THINK that Blizzard NOT WOW.
Now then the root of ALL MMOs or MMORPGs is subscribers.
Most MMO or MMORPGs have failed because lack of followers not lack of prettiness... in short the mases cant play the games because htey ned to have a powerhouse system to actually make it look pretty so the majority of gaming dollars are left in reserve... enter WoW easy to play history of good games and most of all anything short of a toaster ( yes somoen ported it it onto a cell phone even ) can use the engine. thus it becomes wildly popular because anyone cay use it.
lets look at crysis... freaking ENORMOUSLY AWESOME look and no one can run it aside from your top end builds... hence the game did OK but not as brilliantly as a lesser intense first person shooter.. .
In short high end pretty is aa niche market. wide spread sales and popularity are based on accessibility and Blizzard knows this all too well... This is why they are so damned popular. Oh and Pro until i see your "Decent Art" id reserve bashing anyone... and uh... go look at SC2.
Top Ten Reasons New Game Consoles Suck --UPDATE
Mar 13th 2007 11:58AM (old GameDaily blog)some of the points made in the article are VALID and some of the arguements FOR the systems are VALID. but i think you all are being too fanboi about it... Larry took a comical and cynical approach to a situation that i resonated with...my g/f and i are 34 and 31 - mind you she is a gamer as am i.. we play PC games quite a bit... however, when the PS2 pulled out Kingdom Hearts, the next day we had a PS2 in our living room... and from there the games kept piling up... a PS3 is a logical and sane choice for our platform addiction... So why is it still we dont have one? Money? no... Games? yeap! HD compatability? yeap! investment and play commitment? absolutely!!! When i was a young lad and didnt have things like car payments, house payments, a REAL 40+ hour a week job, family nights and all those "other" adult things shelling out all the cash to get the bigger better faster console would be completely reasonable... but Larry said it... gamers have grown up... Well most of of have. and yes i still have my 2600, 5200 (with custom boarded conrollers as the old ones had really crappy potentiometers and cellulose boards...), NES SNES N64, GameCube, every version of the GB known, 2 PS2s, a 3d0 somewhere and you cant forget the neogeo (even have a 6 slot neo geo cabinet in the game room. I think the term gamer has been skewed entirely too much... Now its more like game consumer Lemming... My 2 bits.
