To #9: That's pretty much how the internet works. If you come to the website hosted on my computer and posted something I didn't like, I have every right to block you/censor your speech. This works for every single site on the internet, pretty much. It doesn't mean you don't get to say what you want, though. People are running servers for other people to use, they're not gonna let something like this happen if it annoys them.

Grid Wars author comments on clone's creation

Game cloning has a long, rich tradition.

Look at PuzzLoop, Zuma, Tumble Bugs, Magnetica -- all the same game, some different companies.
Look at Bust a Move and Snood.
Look at Bejeweled and Zookeeper.

If any of you trust wikipedia (I do): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clone_(computer_and_video_games)

Other notable game clones include Warcraft, Final Fantasy, Star Ocean. You may argue with me on those, citing that they don't mimic the exact look of their inspirations, but they clone the gameplay of their inspirations very closely.

I take issue with calling him parasitic, as he is obviously not making any money off of this. He's probably losing money (bandwidth costs). One could argue fame, but without much evidence for or against we can only speculuate (or ask the man).

All in all, he's done nothing that Squaresoft and Blizzard haven't done. Seems a little severe to me to be attacking him so.

12. Fossil Wrist PDA

This thing would be absolutely perfect for my uses. For a number of years, I've been trying to figure out how to get some PDA functionality on my person without having to take up the pocket space. I attempted to get a Smartphone for the PDA functionality, but apparently the Nokia 3600 bricks every time you fill up its internal RAM too much, so now I've got a simple phone and there are no inexpensive (and attractive) PDA phones for my provider. Additionally, my watch face has cracked and now water continuously condensates on the inside of the glass. With this, I could replace that watch AND get the PDA functionality I've been wanting. So awesome.

I'm kind of surprised at the overly negative responses to this article. This seems like more or less of a good thing to me.

PSP price to drop to $149 this holiday season?

Aug 14th 2006 2:20AM (Joystiq)
A lot of people have been giving poster #4's links credence (as I did myself at first). Then I realized that the pages that are linked to don't give all of the reviews made for either console.

To see this, go to the DS section (just for example) and click "S". You'll notice that there are about half as many S games as there are total games listed on the front page, and most of those games are not listed there.

Those two links simply list the most recent reviews for both the PSP and the DS, not all of them.
