Pre-awareness Wii displays for Best Buy?

Oct 24th 2006 12:49PM (Joystiq)
@ hilker: I missed "raquet" and also "intuative"

Otherwise, the Niven Marketing Group copyright language is odd, especially the date format and the small caps.

And I don't think a golf game is going to be the primary highlight of the Wii display. I also doubt 2 of the 4 rectangular signs would have the same text "A New Style of Gaming," and I can't believe one of the 4 selling points is "Expanding the Audience"...

I could go on, this is a pretty bad fake, but I don't want to make the faker feel too bad. At least it's a pretty nice conceptual design.

I think this is fake. Misspellings ("sensative"), bad grammar, and even worse marketing copy than usual for a game product. Also a lot of distortion in the image where text has been added.

You know the problem with this entire premise? The phrases "rational consumer" and "all else being equal." Aside from the pursuit of the basic necessities of life, most consumer choices aren't "rational," almost by definition. We buy games and game systems because we assign a subjective value to them. Someone covetous of a tangerine Wii would be willing to pay a premium to get it. That is not a "rational" decision, and the value of the tangerine Wii being higher for this hypothetical consumer, the proposition is rendered not "equal."

It's also a little strange to think a tangerine Wii would sell for more than the white. Don't the various shades of DSs sell for the same amount (not counting any bundles)? Only Apple can get away with charging extra for black.

There's very little rational about gaming at all.

I would sell my grandmother's antlers to win a Treo.
