Castle Crashers patch readied for certification

Oct 13th 2008 5:25PM (Joystiq)
I have made zero games. I'm not exactly sure what that has to do with anything. Fundamental features are broken. Broken online play and game saving are not minor problems that can be addressed months after launch. I am a consumer of many products that I have never actually made but I have the right to be frustrated when one of those products is defective.

I understand that they have been working to fix the problem and I appreciate the small size of their team but at some point problems like these become unacceptable. How much slack am I supposed to give them? How long is too long? Perhaps a little more communication from the developer would have set expectations but all we've heard from The Behemoth are things like "soon" and "it's going along well."

Honestly, I think I'm being pretty reasonable here.

I understand that their development team is tiny but this patch is long overdue. I certainly will not be buying any games developed by The Behemoth until I know for sure all bugs have been worked out. Online coop was the sole reason I bought this game and it's virtually unplayable for many. 2 months is far too long when it comes to fixing fundamental problems with a game.

I actually feel guilty because I was the one who convinced my friends to buy this game when it was launched. Hopefully they'll be willing to give it another shot when the patch is released but it's been such a hassle that I doubt they'll want to waste their time.

I don't want entry into the beta because I'm not really a person, I'm a pig space monster.

Spore producer on reviews, depth, and LittleBigPlanet

Sep 9th 2008 12:01PM (Joystiq)
Does she really think the reviewers where expecting a Grand Theft Auto type experience? I think reviewers were expecting a game with a bit more depth and, based on many of the reviews I've read, it seems like what they got was a loosely connected collection of mini-games.

I was really looking forward to Spore but the more I read the less I want to play. At this point, I need a demo with a bit more gameplay to convince me to buy. It will sell insanely well regardless, so I doubt I'll see a demo beyond the creature creator.

The closer we get to the release of this game the further away it seems. I just want to play at this point; I think I have all the information I need.

Almost certainly, which is even more misleading than Wii Play.

The Indiana Jones game that LucasArts doesn't want you to know about ... yet

Cartoon Network's Clonewars mini-series was better than all three of the prequels, so I have hope that this movie will be of similar quality.

The Indiana Jones game that LucasArts doesn't want you to know about ... yet

Absolutely not. Indiana Jones as an archeologist on a quest to retrieve an artifact with mysterious powers before the Nazi's can get there filthy hands on it, is the only way to go.
