Sega announces Sonic Rush Adventure for Nintendo DS

Apr 16th 2007 8:38PM (Joystiq)
That "geeky note" is probably the biggest thing on my mind since I heard this game was announced! Hideki Naganuma got a lot of musical power out of the DS on Sonic Rush.

Scratch that: The Xbox 360 might damage discs after all

Apr 16th 2007 6:53PM (Joystiq)
I work at hollywood video and we rent out 360 games, every so often we get games back from different customers with the exact same rings on them. can't say why it happens, and whether it's the console owners fault or microsoft's (I'd imagine a bit of both). but it does happen somewhat often that I see.

Sonic Rush Adventure screenshots & details speed onto the scene

I agree with Tristan, the album is amazing, hopefully they bring Hideki Naganuma back agin for the soundtrack. He's one of the best game composers out there and gets so little credit.

Gamestop shenanigans sell open games as 'new'

Mar 25th 2007 4:10PM (Joystiq)
I don't understand why you can't just have extra, blank dvd cases lying around, and when you get a new game, print out the cover art, and slap a sticker on it, and that's called a display case. when that game is no longer available new, take the display case down, take the cover art out, slide new cover art in, and voila! You have a display box for a whole new game, and all for the cost of a sheet of paper. Blank DVD cases and a printed sheet of paper is not outragous. Especially if it will bring back all the clearly disgruntled customers that are commenting here. Whether it is company policy or not, it is apparent that Gamestop/EB are driving away customers with the practice.

Also, yes, I am sure that most of the games that have been "gutted" are in great condition and are perfectly fine, the fact is though, that once the game is opened you can not be 100% sure that it is truly new and has not been messed with, and without that 100% assurance of being new, many customers will not believe it is new at all.

Poll: Do you import?

Mar 21st 2007 8:27PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I've imported a handful of games, though I usually wait a couple months before importing, just to be sure that the game is most likely not getting a US release. Also just in case there is a price drop so I don't have to spend the whole 50 bucks on a DS game. I also look at whatever reviews for the games I can find, so I am sure I don't get stuck with a game with a large emphasis on text and have no clue what I am doing.

DS Daily: Adapting anime

Mar 19th 2007 2:06AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I own Jump Super Stars and Jump Ultimate Stars, I do like a lot of the characters that appear in the game but I also started looking into the manga and anime of characters I had until playing the game had never heard of. The Jump series is an exception though, I tend to stay away from most anime based games since they usually don't seem to do the properties justice, or I don't particularly care for the anime to begin with.

Alternatively though, I do enjoy anime based on video games, such as Tales of Phantasia or Street Fighter V (and many more), seeing characters from games I love get a cool fleshed out storyline is always awesome!
