I think is a great idea! Not sure its right for me, I'd still prefer an updated HTC Shift style computer, but I could see this being perfect for lots of people.

Did anyone else notice this patent application was filed in 2008? Not exactly "recent."

So having a hub with a list of apps is so much more different than a task manager how?

Microsoft on copy and paste in Windows Phone 7 Series: 'people don't do that'

Mar 17th 2010 10:34PM (Engadget)
What annoys me most about all of this is the "we're right, your opinion doesn't matter" mindset Microsoft has taken with this. It worked great for Apple because they already have the hearts and minds of people that care less about existence of functionality than appearance of functionality. That gave them lots of time to develop and add-in features that people clamored for.

Microsoft doesn't have that luxury, they have to sell their products purely on marketing and feature set. The same people that passed on iPhones because of the lack of advanced features (myself included) will pass on WP7 phones for the same reason. The people they're aiming at are basically iPhone buyers that haven't bought an iPhone yet. Judging by the sales numbers, that's not a lot of people.

At this point I hope WP7s initial release is a sales failure and they fastlane the improvements needed to give it an overall featureset competitive with what is out NOW and in the future, not with what Apple launched with years ago.

@Kchrpm I mean between Office apps (Word to Excel, Excel to Word, Word to Outlook, etc) and OneNote.

You can't copy and paste inside of Office apps and OneNote? ARE THEY OUT OF THEIR ******* MINDS?!?!

Useless. Utterly useless.

Motorola Backflip doesn't allow non-Market apps, proves AT&T doesn't get Android

@NGnerd I agree, if they do something similar to the Dell Mini 5 I will be crushed.

I can only imagine what they will do to Windows Phone 7 devices...will they replace Bing with Yahoo? Will they put their immovable tiles at the top?

I've been in the AT&T/Cingular Wireless family since my iWireless phone running on the AT&T/Cincinnati Bell Wireless network in high school ~10 years ago, but if they're going to continue to treat consumer smartphones like they do now, it'll be time for me to jump ship.
