I wonder what the controller for this game would look like. If the gameplay is anything like IIDX, then they've got their work cut out for them; I haven't gotten anyone to get into IIDX (Rock Band, on the other hand, is an easy sell). But it might have had something to do with the interface, Konami's designs tend to be pretty sparse.

According to the trailer, the story follows an American TV crew gathering material in Hanyuuda Village. The village no longer exists, yet the "ceremony" is beginning again.

New Translation... unless every single member of the TV crew is well versed in Japanese occult rituals, it'll be interesting to see how they try to wrap their heads around what's happening. Unless they just run screaming into the night. And then return as zombies. Well, corpse people.

Isn't anyone else waiting for a sequel to Master of Magic?

I've always thought the batarians were a reference to Battalion, the Japanese title for Night of the Living Dead, especially considering there are two enemies in the game which are essentially zombies. But I guess they're just some kind of salarian-rachni love children.

It was mentioned in the other thread about this (one of the first comments, IIRC), but SonyDrive is the name of the product info site. The product name is simply XEL-1. You can verify this for yourself by simply navigating to any other page on the Sony site.

The name of the game in Chinese is 霸王, which can also be translated as "tyrant" or "conqueror". Anyhow, having dug around a little bit, it seems like it all starts with this post (Chinese):

Which does contain the word "transvestite/transsexual" (人妖), the exact phrase being "2. 角色性别严重缺失，导致人妖泛滥，极其恶心，至于会不会最终导致部分玩家的性别认同障碍，汗~~~~" (2. The post is well over a year old, and others have responded, one post in particular (http://ac.766.com/acxs_975/2006/06-22/3D8A0B86-06A1-7BA0-35B8-DCCA04EE5D71.shtml) comments that the OP is "self-centered", "repugnant", and "hysterical"(as in crazy, original text is 歇斯底里). Which is about one step short of comparing him to Jack Thompson.
