Video: Madden 08 versus Madden 09 visuals

May 24th 2008 11:44AM (Joystiq Xbox)
The only way the games will get any good is if the NFL made 2K and EA alternate years that they made the game. Not only would that give EA competition to an extent again, but it would give both teams longer developement periods. Unfortunately that will probably never happen.

Puzzle Quest set at 1200 MSFT points

Sep 19th 2007 12:14AM (Joystiq Xbox)
I can't believe people are complaining about this one. Lots of people go ahead and buy those stupid GH song packs for 500 points despite the fact that they are getting ripped, then wont pay 1200 for a game that is actually a great deal. This isn't "really expensive" it's a total bargain.

Stuntman: Ignition demo impressions

Jul 12th 2007 11:30PM (Joystiq Xbox)
"I loved the original back on the PS2. This one is ridiculous...I'll definitely check it out when it comes out but as for the difficulty I blew through the first one in 3 or 4 tries and the ice one only took me 5 or 6 tries [And I got the string with 856k on the first and 670k on the second]. I remember this game being a lot harder and a little longer per shot than these two were...:

You probably have a lot of experience so the game was easier for you. I know it took me a while to beat the 2nd and 3rd ones. Not to mention 5 starring.

Bringing it Home Wrap: Stuntman demo and trailers

"halo 3 is dead, and the only faggots attending the funeral will be peter moore (complete with a sad face master chief tattoo on his arm), the entire staff at bungie... and a few loser halo fanboys.

KILLZONE ROCKED E3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Hey guys. Remember when the original Killzone was going to "kill" Halo?

*laughter*

X3F hands-on: Aegis Wing (play it with friends)

I didn't think it was all that bad single player. It's decent enough, multiplayer is indeed awesome, though I often get lost in the shuffle of all the enemies/my allies/ all the firepower.

X3F hands-on: Eternal Sonata

Ken- follow the instructions. You do have to go to the Japanese marketplace to download it, I was just surprised that it was in English for me, but that was when I played it on my regular account, not sure how it works if you play it on your Jap account.

And as for T Ghost
"Also the fixed camera and lots of invisible walls are unacceptable"

I don't see how. The fixed camera gives it a more cinematic feel, and this is a RPG, you dont really need to adjust the camera much, it's not an action game. And I'm fine with having to stick with the paths, being able to explore wherever gets a bit frustrating as it becomes tougher to find hidden items. Now it's less of a hassle, and there's still plenty of branching pathways at least.

"The gamepaly is pretty repetive: Walk arround, talk to the (very few) people arround that most of the time talks nonsense or gives humongous text tutorials about the battle system, get into battle, rinse and repeat over and over and over..."

I hate to break this to you, but you can say that about ANY game. oh man Halo is just shoot, reload, shoot reload. There's a lot more depth there than that. And the tutorials were pretty short, especially by RPG standards.

Did anyone here play the demo on their fake Japanese account? I went back and played it on my regular account, and couldn't believe it was all in English. I wonder when the demo is getting a North American release.

And yeah, I'd say the demo was amazing, and I'm looking forward to it more than Blue Dragon now. My only problem was that when I was in the town the game kept kind of pausing for a brief second, but I'm sure that'll be patched up before the real release.

No custom game types in Shadowrun

No way, I'm looking forward to it eitherway. Specialized game types aren't usually much fun anyway.
