Today's swing-for-the-fences video : The Bigs

May 20th 2007 6:34PM (Joystiq)
Hm. To patriotic and American for me. And you wonder why other countries don't like baseball?

Your rippling flag in the background sickens me.

Note that I have nothing against Americans, and I know many, many incredible people from the 'States. What bugs me is large corporations trying to sneak American patriotism into garbage products hoping it will sell more. Spiderman 3 was a joke like that.

Rayman Raving Rabbids to return for Wii, DS

That video clip missed one of the best "Bunnies can't..." videos!

^ After seeing this vid, I actually made the 'DAA!' a ringtone on my phone! Used it for incoming messages, and got lots of weird looks.

Half-Life 2 Black Box gone, only Orange Box remains

@26: You don't need an internet connection to play single player, you just need one to ACTIVATE the single player game, then you can play in your dark, dis-connected hole all you want.

And I much prefer Steam over every other online pay & download game services out there. The part of Steam that got hacked was their CyberCafe system, and not the general consumer credit cards.

My only concern is someone might hack and change my password, but not only does that apply to just about every other online service, but it can also be remedied with a simple phone call.

A quick look at African game development

Whoa.. Whoa! One of my best buddies is from South-Africa, and you would be surprised at the gamer he is.

For example, he actually defends his use of a MASSIVE CRT monitor (i'm talking 40-50 pound 19-incher), because it has a cleaner image than LCDs when playing games at below-native resolutions.

@ kingofwhale : I think he might've meant the 3D graphics with the agents dancing at the bottom. Maybe?

Ultra Rumor: CVG says Blizzard announcing Starcraft MMO

I have a super secret inside source. My friend's neighbor's hairdresser's boss is a cousin to a guy who works at Blizzard. This will be a completely new franchise that plays like Diablo, and will be based off of The Lost Vikings.

But you never heard it from me!

Wii Blaster isn't Nintendo product

Just to add to my comment, the odds that Nintendo will actually implement this are extremely small. Personally, I don't think we'll see lightgun games on the VC at all.

Wii Blaster isn't Nintendo product

May 1st 2007 12:22AM (Joystiq)
It WOULD work, theoretically, with a (in)visible cursor on the screen, representing where the Wiimote is pointing, and where the lightgun would be pointing. When the trigger is pressed, the VC emulator would simply poll the pixel colour under the cursor, just as the NES would poll the sensor colour from the lightgun.

And, LuigiHann, you're missing the point COMPLETELY. This is not about a third party pointing device, its about a snap-in holder for the wiimote that feels like a lightgun. It simply holds the wiimote and gives you a comfortable gun-like handle. The only person smoking crack here is you.

Last Stand ... or: Resident living evil dead zombie night

Nice SP references.
The game was fun. I agree... way too easy!
Who the hell orders the W,S,A,D controls A,W,S,D?! Hasn't anyone who made this game played an FPS game before?!
