The thing about Conversion is though... that RP is vital in getting more runes as a tank. It's almost required.

You're going to need to Deathstrike to be a tank.

Right now the Conversion talent works the best for 2H frost, but just because of the way 2h frost gets oodles of RP.


I mean, I suppose it's close to Deathcoil/Lichborn in that you need a full bar to use it, but that was using the Cataclysm style of RP/Runes. The pace of both will change in Mists.

2h playstyle?

The animation difference between DW and 2H is not really a change in playstyle -_-

Unholy and Frost are different playstyles, but both Frost dw/2h use the same spells, the character just swings different weapons. And honestly, who has time to look at their weapon animations in an encounter?

Looking at the class on paper is no way to indicate how we perform.

Heck, looking at our class in the Mists new lv90 5mans isn't either.


We have to wait until Raids are available to test, since that's all that matters... and sadly, mostly just Heroic Raids.

DKs seemed fine in mid-Cataclysm if you were doing regular 5 mans, or normal raids. But they had a bit of a trouble in the heroic raids for hard hitting bosses.

Active tanking, as far as Blizzard seems to be concerned, is about tradeoffs/decisions. I think we have that right now, but really only in one situation.

AE Threat or Survivability.

Tanking bloods on Heroic Spine is just stupid for a DK tank. Do I want to spam Bloodboil, or do I want to not die?

Otherwise DS usage is more of a core skill you need, although it is active vs passive (the shield isn't, but getting a good shield is).


I think we were the stepping stone to a new tanking model, but didn't go the full distance they want to take it to.

Given how they keep saying that adding players won't affect your odds, it makes me assume you're going to need to beat a D19 roll or whatever to win.

So, 25 players automatically do a /roll, and 23 roll above 90. 23 items awarded?


Seems like the only way to do this, where the increased number of players doesn't muck with the odds.

Mostly going to check out DK changes, and how tuned we are.

Of course I'll try Monks out, and see how their playstyle goes. Who isn't?

Druids weren't THAT bad in BC, but then again, Paladin and Bear tanks were just getting started as being relevant again.

Still not sure why 2 is so much worse than the original.

Granted, I played it on PC, so I didn't have to mash buttons... but all in all it's really the same concept with a different character.
