You guys know that 5 is an odd number right? :)

High attach rate equals bad news for 360?

Nov 21st 2006 4:55PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Could this high attach rate also be a factor that many people had to buy a bundle with 2-10 games to buy the system in the first place? :)

The Coming Dramatic Decline of Youtube

Sep 18th 2006 4:31PM (Blog Maverick)
For what it's worth, 86 of the top 100 videos in July were user generated (thus it is assumed that there is no infringement).

iPods in the workplace, security threat?

Jul 18th 2006 11:02PM (The Digital Music Weblog)
Yes, they are. I wrote about this a few years back in response to Ryan Block's snarky comments :)

The LG FINGER mouse

Jul 13th 2006 10:27PM (Engadget)
I wonder how this compares from a usability perspective to the Mogo PC card mouse. Unless significantly easier to use, I would probably lean towards that (which charges when inserted).

But I do have to think it would be much more attractive if it was Bluetooth enabled...

Cingular lights up 3G in New York City

Jun 30th 2006 11:02AM (Engadget Mobile)
Interesting, but surprising it took this damn long to get to New York. The current coverage is piss-poor, and even the future coverage is pretty weak especially compared to EVDO.

I signed a 1 yr contract for my Verizon EVDO card earlier this year, so I have some time. My voice plan contract with T-Mo is up at the end of August. I was reluctantly considering switching over to
the Q now and tethering, so I can get rid of my EVDO card... but with this news, I think I'll hold off.

T-Mobile isn't the best especially outside of major
markets, but it's great where I need it and very well priced. I prefer GSM carriers because: 1) I tend to switch phones a lot, 2) most of
the WM5 devices (particularly those from HTC) are GSM, 3) I like being able to use my HTC Universal + 5600 + cheap, old v66 phone depending on my
needs at the time (e.g., if I go to the beach, I can take the old phone without worrying about it). T-Mo has roaming agreements with Cingular and is cheaper, plus it was the first with good GSM coverage in NYC.

Speaking of agreements, AllTel does advertise "America's Largest Network", but Cingular claims it has the "Largest Digital Network". My girlfriend actually asked the other day whether Cingular changed its name to Alltel, remembering that I told her awhile back about the switch back to
AT&T.

Too bad Telus isn't a GSM provider :)
