The best trailer of a 2D shooter starring a monkey you'll see today

Feb 14th 2008 10:43PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
If it does make it over here, I think this one is gonna end up on my must have list.

New GameSpot Editor in Chief wants to regain your trust

Feb 3rd 2008 12:33AM (Joystiq)
They've already lost this battle... maybe even lost this war. Their best bet would be to cater the site to the up and coming gamers. That or just lay low for a few years until Gerstmann-gate blows over.

Again, I'm not making any claims one way or the other. GameSpot could be right. The Gerstmann-gate conspiracy theorists could be right. I don't know what or who to believe at the moment. One thing that we all know for sure is that someone in upper management either has terrible decision making skills or a terrible sense of timing.

Whatever the case may be, I've removed all GameSpot feeds from my RSS Aggregator and canceled my GameSpot paid membership. It really doesn't matter how many tactics they try right now, I'm honestly thinking they just aren't going to be able to reach a victory or even a good compromise with their readers on this issue.

Can we say, "Vaporware?"

GameSpot could learn a lesson or two from this guy.

Yes, you knew someone was gonna go there.

Shovelware: A cause and effect

Jan 4th 2008 8:50PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Publishers are out to make money. Retail stores are out to make money. Both will take all the shovelware you can give 'em as long as they sell. It's up the consumer to do the research before buying a game, IMO.

Best of the Rest: Griffin's Picks of 2007

Man, I hate to say it, but by your description of Mass Effect, it's quite obvious that you're not familiar with Bioware's previous work.

PS3 Poll Police: Which 2008 game will get mad delays?

Dec 31st 2007 9:53AM (Joystiq Playstation)
To be honest with ya, EA's been about the only one that's been able to hit release dates with any kind of accuracy as of late. So, I'm gonna vote that ANYTHING and EVERYTHING not published by EA will be delayed (possibly madly).

Cost of next-gen game production is a burden on developers

Dec 30th 2007 12:19PM (Joystiq)
Think of all the amazing mods and user created content for the many blockbuster PC games out there. How is my suggestion going to cause a problem and not fix the problem?

Cost of next-gen game production is a burden on developers

IMO, developers need to focus less on holding the players' hands and more on user created content. That should honestly take A LOT of money and time out of development.

Alvin and the Chipmunks might be worse than Cruis'n

Dec 27th 2007 6:24PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I don't quite understand the gameplay, but I don't see any problem with the game. The crowd looks bad, but the Chipmunks models look pretty dang good. The only thing that I could see that would throw me off is that they aren't hitting the guitar/bass/drums on the right notes for the song that's playing. But, those don't seem like big deals. I guess I'm just missing something.
