Man, my favourite part was the scene where Ephialtes, the deformed spartan defector (wow, had to look this up from wikipedia), entered the tent of Xerxes. Just because it stuck into my mind ;)

I feel like wanting to scream like a little girl. Man, I'm such a fanboy, this made my day.

Well, actually the article states in its fourth sentence that "With the collective effort of a 110-man team the Xbox 360 and PC-exclusive Conviction will shake the Splinter Cell-series to it's bones". The page they have scanned up at GR doesn't mention anything about a Danger- or Hero-meter though. It only speaks about the plot and a bit about why they changed the game. Gotta pick up the real mag later just to read it further. :)

I'm that kind of a gamer who loves quirky gameplay. When I was in the middle of my military servire (lasted for a half a year, mandatory around here), my friend bought a DS Lite to replace his older brick-DS. Long story short, I loaned the brick along with Phoenix Wright and Advance wars (ironic, ain't it), and found myself playing both whenever possible, allowed by the "man" or not. By the time a buddy from the army imported Ouedan 1 I was hooked, but when it came along, it was the final coffin in my quest for "stay the bloody heck away from DS" (we also used to have DS-lan-parties after lights-off with Advance wars, that was awesome if anything).

Along this time my other friend, also entangled with mandatory affairs, went and bought a PSP along with Locoroco. I tested that too, and soon I was engrossed in multiplatform-awesomeness.
So, when I got out, I got both systems which repelled my boredom in between make-belief warfaric events.

The DS I love dearly, for it holds so many titles of pure condensed geniousness. 'nuff said, considering where I'm saying it anyways.

The PSP, well, aside from LocoRoco and MGA, has been a bit of a letdown, but thankfully the homebrew-scene makes up for it quite well. Also, as it seems to be the case with Sony quite alot these days, the future promises good times with the UMD-chugger.

Anyways, I don't regret getting both, and will continue to throw my hard earned cash for portable goodness both ways.

Well, coming from Northern Europe, Finland, and generally fancying the whole Sony-grillbox, I guess my following statement reveals the necessary facts about the whole commotion: There was a launch?
Sure as hell failed to notice it. We only got like 10.000 machines for the whole country anyway, and with the usual "hay guys, let's tax the hell out of everything" -addons on the general price of electronics, I can see why it failed to get people out of their caves fighting polar bears and penguins and whatnot to get their hands on the 700€ piece of liquid entertaiment. Of course I don't even have to start with the trippy ads to illustrate my point. It'll probably be sold out in the course of the weekend, but I guess for today and maybe for some parts tomorrow anyone can waltz into a local wal-mart-equivalent and score the damn thing with dumb luck only ignorant parents can demonstrate (So, this thing plays these "Wii" and "X-BoX" games too, right?).
