Rumorang: PS3 Crysis will be '50% new game'

Mar 3rd 2008 10:47PM (Joystiq)
Ok, lets look at it like this: Crysis had one thing going for it: good graphics. Crysis slaughtered top end graphics cards, but barely used a dual-core processor (well, like 50% of it). All the processing power in the world won't make up for the fact that the PS3's graphics card isn't even up to par with last years mid-high end cards, which Crysis chugged on. I'm not saying the 360 is any better off, I'm just saying the graphics will be worse on the PS3 to the point that it won't have any redeeming qualities and will end up just being average. Also, why would they do so much work to release a game on a console with such a low install base? I'm not saying they should do it for the 360, I'm just saying they should keep it off consoles.

In before people bitch about how horrible the first one was. I liked it at least, and I can't wait for this one.

Team Fortress 2 to get unlockable weapons, new game mode

Organic, seriously, shut up. I've played tons of TF2, and the Heavy/Medic combo isn't nearly as powerful as you claim. First off, it takes a long time to charge an uber, and it only lasts about 10 seconds. Second, a heavy moves so slow when firing, you can just hide while he's ubered. Third, the heavy may have 300, 450, or even 600 health, but he's completely screwed if you kill his medic. Also, scout is not weak. It's by far my most played class, and his speed and rate of fire on the shotgun make up for his low health.

Either you don't play TF2 enough, or you play it on 360 (everyone may be complete shit on the 360 version for all I know, I have it for PC).

Oh, and I think pyros do run a bit faster...

But seriously, yay for new Halo novels!

PS3 Saints Row pimp-slapped and capped, sequel in works

May 10th 2007 11:49PM (Joystiq)
I dunno, if they don't fix the lock-on system or remove it completely from GTAVI, add difficulty settings or at least a way to restore health, Saints Row 2 could do well. Everyone says GTA is so great, but it has tons of glaring flaws.

Is Catan changing Xbox Live?

Seriously, what the hell? I swear I meet more racist homophobic jerks who are over 18/21 than I do ones younger. Sure, prepubescent kids are annoying, and sometimes they scream, and one time I met someone names Solidsnake[random numbers] who kept saying he was going to snap my neck in a comically high voice, but people of all ages are assholes, not just young kids. And personally, I'm 15, and I only act like an asshole when someone pushes my asshole button (says I suck because I killed them, calls me the n word, etc.).

And even if they make 18+ rooms, people can lie about their age when they sign up, its the internet.

@3- Ah, yes, the internet. A place where any idiot can express their opinion. If you don't like the game, don't read the article, and don't comment on it. It's that simple.

I type with punctuation and all that stuff, but I use lol whenever I'm too lazy to dignify a comment with a n actual response. And anyone who still uses 133t, get with the times, people only talk in l33t to make fun of it.

PS3 network a boon to disease-fighting computations

Apr 25th 2007 10:44PM (Joystiq)
@Jake

You're right, humanity in general is pissing in the face of natural selection, but one has to wonder, since we have the ability, is it our duty to try to cure diseases, or should we let natural selection take its course and weed out the weak. To allow Homo sapiens to evolve into a higher life form, we would have to let natural selection take its course, but thats not likely to happen unless there is a major catastrophe that leads to the abandonment of major institutions (government, world organizations, etc.) that would lead to total anarchy. And then, the wrong kind of people would still end up gaining power and reproducing...
