Hope I don't jinx you with this, but it's only a matter of time before it dies for real. I got the E-74 error on an eBay xbox earlier this year. Did some research and found a few "fixes" on youtube. Turned out my issue was with the GPU (tried different cables, etc.) Ended up taking it to a local shop (I'm in Columbus, OH) where he re-soldered it.
My roommate just had his E-74, too. His is still under warranty, I think, though.
Hopefully, installing games to the HD helps keep the heat, etc. down and prevents this from happening in the future.

I don't understand why you guys are so hateful and angry about this?
rick is the only one who's gotten it right so far... They're putting it in there to accommodate the NXE (possibly installing it so no xbox live update is necessary).
Also, the changes made to the Jasper series is supposed to help alleviate RROD, E74, etc. so you're not as likely to have to send yours off.
Nintendo and Sony would do the same things if they had similar issues with their systems (which they don't/which is not the point of this post, so please keep on topic).

Gears of War 2: (Go back to your) Home on Horde Island

People were complaining last night that it's too similar to COD4. I tend to think that the familiarity made it easier to pick up and play. Try it out and see what you think, but I bet you'll like it. Some of the things they did differently are improvements and I can't really see a glaring shortcoming yet, as far as the environments, weapons, general gameplay.

Let me preface this by saying that I also enjoyed my first evening of the beta (though, I did get stuck in a wall on Makin and my friend got stuck in a ladder on Castle). Don't get ahead of yourself, though. We're not certain the levels were that well thought out yet. It's just that only a small number of people have been playing. Soon enough, people will spend tireless hours trying to find glitch spots or dominating sniping spots. Also, we need to find out about the other maps--and how all of these maps handle the different game types.

How many ninjas escaped the fallout? Additionally, how many of them have mutated in to super ninjas? Finally, what are the odds that there is a totally new market for piracy?
