I guess his this was an opportunity to change the art style and plot line to become more in line with industry standards.... i.e. not what you might expect from a sequel to Crackdown....
Not saying the game will be bad.... i was just disappointed with the direction the trailer has shown. :/
Wait... why can't L4D be the platform and this be a paid-for DLC? There's nothing stopping the updating of the engine through Steam and the campaigns from L4D are already compatible with L4D2.... i don't get it.
I agree with you Wormzy. I loved every Zelda i played (i didn't play the mid-90's gameboy ones) up until Phantom Hourglass. I don't care about cartoony graphics or gimmicky gameplay as long as it's fun, not overly easy and there's some depth to the gameplay.
For me, Phantom hourglass took all the previous zelda concepts and dulled it down into a completely boring slog down a very unchallenging hill. I saw the videos for the new one and it looks even more 'railroaded' down the casual slope than Phantom Hourglass. It's become a different game and while i'm okay with that (because i'm not against other types of games), it's not the same type of game anymore and it's not for me.
I love how the dumbed-down Zelda is still the 'hardcore game' choice for execs.... the fact that it's now on literal railroads means there's even less to explore and find.... at least Phantom Hourglass had a boat you could sail around anywhere. I'm just getting fed up of them bringing out previously entertaining and challenging games series names which are (to me at least) no longer challenging or entertaining.
AFAIK the publishers will set the price. The reason this will work is that they'll probably use the Gamestop (and every other model) of buying the used games/licences for less than they sell them - giving them profit.
There will also be a limited number of licences being sold as 'used' since not everyone is going to resell their licence... plus they'll probably either have the resell price very low at launch or non-existant for the first week or something.
In fact, there is no innate reason to catalogue tastes, unless you're a marketeer or bureaucrat, but then you'd be dead inside.
Then you'd better hope you never work in any industry that requires profiling or cataloging or defining. (Which is practically every industry with the exception of a few specific jobs: perhaps being a writer or farmer where someone else does the target market and stuff for you) It's not assumption and lazy thought... many hours go into trying to work out what kind of people play what types of games - you're really not seeing that or you're just trying to be funny and obtuse.
Humans innately categorise everything they do and interact with in their lives - it's a basic psychological function i still fail to see how it's lazy. You can't assess 100,000 or more individuals on their own merits when you're polling them on their usage habits it just doesn't work.
