If you hated yesterday's forced-wallpapering of Google Search, you weren't alone

You must have a really slow computer or something. You do know that the search bar isn't affected by the picture in the background, right? And that you don't even need the homepage to do searches, right? And that Google didn't copy Bing at all, right? And that google aren't "subdued" by anyone, right?

I thought it was absolutely hilarious that people were so outraged by it. I can imagine it now, people sitting at home rocking backwards and forwards in their chairs going "This can't be happening, this isn't real. Make it STOP!"

I don't use Google for its aesthetics, I use it because it's the best search engine. As people here have already said. Who uses the homepage anyway?

Eh, besides I use a greasemonkey script combined with my custom background to make google look sexy.

Eh, I keep it pinned there anyway.

Facebook "likejacking" worm tricks you into posting fake "likes"

I hovered over one of these to "like" it and when the pop-up didn't appear I looked at the URL which wasn't facebook.

I clicked anyway out of curiosity but WOT stopped me from being silly.

Also my weekly virus scan didn't find anything.

Google Wave had its first birthday yesterday, but got no presents

I thought wave looked dumb from its first announcement. I honestly didn't understand the hype.

People editing documents in real-time? That was something I knew wouldn't work. How are you supposed to proof read something that has changed by the time you look at it again?

Dear Hotmail: I won't take you seriously until you cut this crap out

Wow, such a furore over a single line of text at the footer of an e-mail? Seriously guys? I swear you are all melodramatic. No one's forcing you to read the adverts. It's not like TV or Radio or even some websites where you have to "watch" the ad before viewing the content.

It's not like every time I get an e-mail from a hotmail user and then I see the footer and go "Oh cool, I guess he put some really interesting stuff in this footer. Oh wait no, it's just an advert. . . THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!". No I don't I ignore it completely. Hell, when I send e-mails from my desktop client the message saying "This e-mail was scanned by AVG blah blah blah" is appended and so far nobody (work related or personal) has scoffed at it.

Moving on from this; I switched over to GMail in January and I have to say, I don't like it. I liked the conversation grouping thing but that's moved to HM now. I switched to GMail because I wanted to use web-mail with thunderbird. I know there is an add-on to make this work for HM but it's unreliable and I can't use mail filters on incoming messages.

Also, to people who say they get spam from hotmail, I've been using the service since '05, signed up to multiple websites etc and have rarely received spam, in fact, I can't think of a single occurrence when I did get spam.

Think I might switch back to Hotmail. It's just better because I use Microsoft services. When I sign on to MS network websites I can use the one Live passport and all I have to do is make an account name, all my other details are stored such as; Xbox.com, Bungie.net, MSDNAA, MS TechNet. When I use MS applications they are all integrated with HM, WLM, WLMail, Xbox, Zune (don't have this but I would if they sold them here).

Honestly, you guys scoff at MS when really, the Hotmail and windows Live service (for me) is excellent.

I've never liked google's basic style sheet approach to web interfaces anyhow.

You'll probably chop this down to "MS fanboy-ism". Maybe it is, but I know when MS makes good products and when they make bad ones.

I still think Mediafire is the best file sharing website.
